Terry Vandrovec? Just read the press releases when they come out, but for the zillionth time, stay off the Sioux board. You add nothing. No sign of intelligent life. Zilch.

Pull your head out of your posterior.

A conference has never raised exit fees out of unity: they only raised them out of fear. Every single conference that has raised exit fees has lost some school soon after. Like the ACC charging $50 M and media rights. The ACC feared losing Florida St and Clemson to the Big 12. Soon after the exit fee was raised, Maryland ran to the Big 10. Maryland claimed the exit fee increase didn't take effect by the time they left. The case is in litigation now. Bisonville in just clueless. There are posters claiming the exit fee increase is a good thing. Talk about a bunch of morons. Absolutely clueless. NDSU is going FBS with the Big Sky, but they simply don't get it. Gene Taylor left because he can't stand UND, Montana State, and the Big Sky. If there was any possibilty of NDSU going FBS other than the Big Sky, Taylor would have stayed and captained the ship. But he only saw UND and the Big Sky as icebergs, not lifesaving boats. Bresciani has enough leadership skills and vision and is open enough toward UND to take NDSU to the Big Sky.
-
The Summit League needs to raise money to pay for UMKC and Chicago State's exit fees from the WAC. They can't afford them unless someone else pays. Teammakers for NDSU and Denny Sanford for SDSU will pay the million each. It is a cost of not being behind UND in an FBS conference.
-
Stable conferences don't have exit fees. MVC SEC BIG TEN Big Sky unless the school abruptly leaves
-
@TerryVandrovec So the Summit League is awfully fearful that NDSU and SDSU will jump to the Big Sky so they can become FBS too. Tom Douple can't sleep because of worry, while Johnnyboy dozes off. Thought bizon fans were so sure the UND wanted in the Slummit. Guess Bresciani wants in the Big Sky, which is why Taylor left. The Summit will survive be taking Chicago St and UMKC from the WAC, The WAC will take schools like S Utah, Idaho St, N Colo, and maybe Weber St that will not move to FBS.
-
The bison basketball and volleyball teams are terrible and they are not attractive. Makes sense that you sleep.
-
So you are saying Bisonville posters aren't capable of strategic thought, only emotional outbursts. I never knew!
-
On the CSNbbs realignment board, some of the posters are in shock and claiming Fullerton is full of it. How exactly the Big Sky or any FCS conference can go FBS is still a mystery (and may not be allowed). But Bison fans who think the MVC would automatically tab them as a full member may be in for a shock. Wichita State has a lot of influence, and they want more teams in the SW. NMSt, Ark St, W Ky, and Texas St are logical targets to go with Mo St, and they would enjoy stronger basketball than the Sun Belt. NDSU, SDSU, W Ill, USD, and Youngstown might be left in the cold if the MVC is allowed to move up.

There is certainly aspirations for more sports. ASU and Arizona to the NCHC!

Not a word on bisonville about that tweet. I guess it is OK to mock what athletes eats at the Big Sky media day, but anything substantive and they refuse to discuss it out in the open. Translation: watch the Grand Forks water supply as bisonville is shi**ing bricks down south. Meltdown in 10 days.

A couple of other tweets that deserve mention: Colter Nuanez @Bobcat_Beat · 10h ROOT Sports on 4 Emmy awards sat year, including for best live events for their production of @BigSkyConf games. #BigSkyKickoff Colter Nuanez@Bobcat_Beat Big Sky commissioner Doug Fullerton said he is lobbying for instant replay "It's the standard of college sports." #BigSkyKickoff #BigSkyFB Colter Nuanez@Bobcat_Beat Fullerton supports full tuition for SAs, parents coming on recruiting visits as long as @BigSkyConf schools can afford it #BigSkyKickoff

If there is a window for an FBS Big Sky opening in ten days, Cal Poly, UCDavis, UND, and E Wash need to fundraise for >15,000 seats quickly. The P5 might write into the FBS rules that any FCS conference with one FBS team can transition to FBS. The G5 really might not like it, but they can't do a thing about it. The P5 want more schools in the G5, so the scheduling is cheaper.

For full disclosure: Craig Haley @CraigHaley Fullerton: Idaho, New Mexico St. out there as possible 14th Big Sky football members. Only when time is right. #BigSkyKickoff 12:12 p.m. Mon, Jul 14 Craig Haley @CraigHaley Fullerton: New governing structure could be announced in next 10 days involving five major conferences on FBS level. #BigSkyKickoff Craig Haley @CraigHaley Fullerton: "I'm really optimistic that there's some really good things in this new governing structure." #BigSkyKickoff 12:10 p.m. Mon, Jul 14

He's sees Idaho as the Big Sky's ticket to FBS with the NCAA. Montana, MSU, and especially PSU, and the California schools see football as FBS or bust. FCS just doesn't work in big urban areas where pro sports complete with college. PSU and the California teams struggle immensely with the FCS label in their markets, as the media there thinks it is DII football. Idaho and Boise St announced that they were leaving just as he became commish. (He was the Montana St AD.) Nevada left a couple years before.

The MAC would break away with their own league with four or five teams. I can see Buffalo and Akron, but I can't see Ohio and NIU. Both of those two schools are so enamored by football and going higher, they'll spend any money on that sport (and basketball in Ohio's case) and wouldn't spend a dime (or accept a donation) on hockey. Hockey and basketball fanbases don't overlap much, so I don't see the argument that adding hockey would rob basketball funding unless hockey attendance is totally abyssmal. There's teams in the Horizon that make more sense than the MAC other than Buffalo. UWMilwaukee, Green Bay, Wright St, Oakland, maybe even Cleveland St could all have successful teams from an attendance standpoint. Oakland is probably the closest, but the financials of the Horizon don't allow it without a ton of fundraising. I can see Lindenwood wanting to add hockey. They have women's hockey, and they have plans to buy an arena in suburban St. Louis. Highly doubt the NCHC wants them and doubt the WCHA does. Would be interesting to see if a plan for a new conference takes off for BGSU. I could see Ferris, Mercyhurst, Niagara, Canisius, Robert Morris, and UAB having high interest. Add any of Lindenwood, Oakland, GVSU, Buffalo, and perhaps even Syracuse, and it could work. Syracuse would only be a short-timer, as they would try to get in Hockey East with BC and ND. As stated before, I think the NCHC is hoping for Big 12 and Pac 12 teams for expansion (Washington, Texas, Utah, Iowa St, the Arizona's, Oklahoma), Those schools have money coming out of their ears with their TV contracts, they need more programming for the Long Horn Network, and the PAC 12 Network (although that would have to be negotiated with the NCHC), and they really can't spend more on football unless they all have Saban as a coach. A school like Milwaukee would be given serious consideration though.
-
What have you heard about Iowa St? I think the only way they commit is if Texas and Oklahoma start teams. so UT and OU are more or less cemented to ISU. Texas will work with Austin on a new arena, which might be awhile. Austin is a lot like Columbus, a potential pro town that is dedicated to college sports. Columbus has the BJackets though. Iowa St and Bowling Green would help bridge to the gap in geography and make the Target Center even more of a natural host.
-
It would be nice to land a recruit from ND that is a starter. That's one way of jump starting attendance. But those players are rare. With women's hockey, the Ralph is rarely available for a game. The Ralph would draw people, just for the big screens, laser shows, and video boards it seems.

The most frustrating thing about the Mussman era was to see the lack of discipline and fundamentals get worse every year. First with the DBs, then with the LBs, then the OL, and then the whole team. Listening to opposing announcer teams, they used to marvel at the disciple of Lennon's teams, and that seemed to erode when as fewer and fewer members of those teams were around. It was painful to watch, like seeing water dripping from a roof leak which would later turn into a torrent.

If we want DI non-conference teams to show up, we need to show up in force. That hasn't happened with the exception of NDSU. With the Bowling Green game, the attendance was lousy. I'd rather have Omaha show up in March with Shanks having eligibility than in November with the team having little experience.
-
Thought last year was the final year, but Omaha still owes a game. Could be wrong though.
-
In 15-16, the home schedule should have NDSU, SDSU, and UNI. I presume Drake is a guarantee game. Certainly Utah, Minnesota, and Marquette are guarantee games. The NDSU, UTPA, and Alabama State games should be very winnable. The schedule is saying that Jones is really gunning for the 2015-16 season. Any DI home games he brings in, all the new players would not have jelled yet. (Hence Omaha late in the year.) The beginning of 2014 should be a learning period anyway. When Shanks gets eligible come Jan 1st, the real season starts.

I had forgotten about Bisonvilla! I rather liked Shawno, Siouxpreme, and Nickelboy Haiku on Bisonville. Siouxpreme, even while taking a nap, could take on all of Bisonvilla with their Haiku skills on their home turf and chop them into mincemeat! http://www.bisonvill...nd*-haiku/page9
