  1. Bowling Green had a president that studied dropping hockey. They are embarrassed that they got stuck in a DII league without Miami and WMU and their admin takes it personally. I don't think Cincinnati or Colo St would consider hockey unless and until they get into a P5 conference. Football stadiums are too big a priority. Ohio schools that should nave hockey aspiration are Akron and Wright State: both have on campus rinks., Lindenwood should be a full DII member soon, so it can start DI hockey for men. The women's hockey program is not DI, but intercollegiate level which makes it easier to DII.
  2. What is the status of WMU's new rink? TV exec's surely wanted WMU rather than BGSU in the NCHC, because the Kalamazoo region has so many more people then Bowling Green. WMU is much more similar to UND because WMU has an aerospace school too.
  3. Iowa State definitely gives the Target Center tournament another "'local" team. But not at all convinced that Iowa State jumps unless another P5 school can be convinced. ISU needs to tighten their relationships with UT and OU, because if either jump the Big 12, ISU will be a pauper and probably couldn't afford hockey. Having ASU at least gives the NCHC more of a big time feel in the eyes of the media, so maybe ISU would consider it. No offense to MAC schools and others, but being in a league with only G5 and lower level schools doesn't say much about ISU's status. ISU won't besmirch their reputation unless at least another P5 team is in the NCHC. ASU is the wet dream of most NCHC school admins. Only UT and OU and USC might be bigger. The majority of NCHC schools would absolutely love the thought of making a trip to Tempe. So many alums and NoDak retirees live in the Phoenix area, that its almost a second home for most of the UND nation. Practically every airport in ND has direct flights to Mesa on Allegiant (so does CVG, and its cheap with you plan ahead). I would go so far as to say if it came down to ASU vs Miama or WMU, ASU would win out easily. Phoenix is almost viewed as part of our region: Chicago and east is not. Miami and WMU fans don't khow how much UND (and DU, CC, UNO, SCSU, UMD, and UNO) admin would value ASU. If ASU means that Arizona, UNLV, Utah, USC, and Stanford later add teams, so much the better.
  4. There was talk in a Bowling Green paper that BGSU in not happy with the WCHA. They want Buffalo and the two other MAC schools to invite some Atlantic Hockey teams to start a new CCHA. If the NCHC gets too western for travel, Miami and WMU would likely want bus trips instead of plane trips.
  5. Maybe Arizona, Utah, or Iowa State would take the plunge if another P5 school does so first. The P5 schools have a lot of money now with the new TV contracts. I still think Miami and WMU are flight risks to a new CCHA if Bowling Green can't go too, as they don't they like the expenses of flying out west.
  6. The CBS Sports Network would pretty much demand the NCHC adds Arizona State, just for a big time market. Miami and WMU probably won't like it, but the NCHC maybe adds Bowling Green to placate the MAC schools and go to ten teams
  7. With Carson Shanks eligible after the 1st semester, UNDs frontcourt depth, rebounding, ability to spread fouls around, and defense should only improve. I honestly thought this was going to be a rout, due in part to lack time to gel.
  8. UND wins 5th set 15-7 Win 2nd seed!
  9. UND wins 4th set
  10. 25-13 UND dominates the 3rd set
  11. 18-8 UND pulls out to a big lead in the third set
  12. Tough hole to climb out of But UND is out to a 5-0 lead in the third set
  13. UND only shot 32%. Better shooting an they easily win.
  14. 63-59 CU 2:05 to go UND has been out rebounding CU
  15. 60-54 CU with 4+ min to go CU defense has been much better and CU is hitting threes Cu had led by 13
  16. 45-43 CU 11:39 to go
  17. Jer Garman and the OLine deserve a lot of credit, especially after all the guff this board and I have given them. They are up to the task. Congrats too to Studsrud and Taubenheim!
  18. UNI pulling away with 13 min left to go UND down by 8.
  19. UND behind by two at halftime 31-29
  20. The Hankey brothers from Park River look pretty good for small town ND. QB Abe Hankey can really chuck the football with distance and accuracy.
  21. That interview was in March 2014, when she was a junior. We missed knowing about her commitment for over 8 months.
  22. Looks like Idaho purposely keyed on Dooley and later Pioske but left Moser open. Moser hit for over .600. Nice chess match by both teams. Hopefully now UND can avoid the 4th and 5th spots.
  23. Pioske's hitting dropped nearly .300 pts during that set. Idaho must have changed their defense to counteract her,
  24. Idaho was up 24-18 before UND went on a three pt run. We shouldn't boast about how the team is playing until the game is over. Set to Idaho,
  25. Pioske continues to be totally on like in the Montana matches. The team is different if she is on. Dooley seems to be neutralized by the Idaho bigs, but the reverse is true too. Moser is hitting ,500 and Pioske is over ,600
