You are the supposed expert in realignment because you watch games is the press box. Nobody has broken stories like you have.
-
So from your previous posts, you say Alabama, Syracuse, Ariz St, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Illinois St, and Mankato would join the NCHC and make it 16 Teams? Talk about a travel intensive conference. Where would the tournament Be? At some point, the NCHC should divide once it goes beyond 10 just to maintain a home and away with rivals. The added benefit is lower travel and another autobid. A hockey conference shouldn't go above 10 unless it has single game series like Hockey East.
-
A MAC could force it on Miami or W Mich to play in the MAC. The MAC is worth a hell of a lot more than the NCHC, and it's just a G5 conference. Circumstances can change quickly, but that is denied here.
-
I am not against Miami or W Mich. Some fans here want Mankato and Bemidji as conference members. Why wouldnt MAC schools easy travel - bus- too.
-
Miami can actually bus to Tuscaloosa. Kentucky and Tennessee are narrow states N-S. If Alabama starts hockey, they would want other SEC schools too. Miami is just an hour from Kentucky.
-
The SEC has been a power for years but Ga Tech and Tulane left it. If there had been money in it then, they wouldn't have left. There isn't any monetary comparison now with the NCHC and SEC. That what President's have to think about. The NCHC is probably most concerned about Miami and W Mich leaving which would leave the league at six teams. That's why the exit fee is so high. Once the league get to 10, losing 2 teams is not.a big deal.
-
Read the Miami board and was just repeating what they posted. You are only one opinion and you have been against PAC12 schools. If Buffalo started hockey and Alabama approached the MAC about sponsoring hockey, WMU and Miami would be gone. Pretty simple.
-
You want to be taken seriously, but then compare the SEC, which takes home more than $20 mill per team in TV contracts per year, with the NCHC, which takes home less than $1 mill per year total. That's absolutely laughable, something a grade school kid would say and adults in the room would laugh at. The WMU and Miami fans don't get excited about UMD or Denver, as they don't relate to them and have never been to their arenas. Those fans want regional action, not action over 1000 miles away. They want a regional tournament in Detroit or nearby, not Minneapolis. A MAC league would be ideal for them, as it is in all other sports.

So you and others would prefer to be uninformed then? I tried to keep this board informed on Big12 expansion, which was long winded, and they didn't add anyone. So all those posts by me was just stuff thrown on a wall that didn't come true was useless? If a fire is going on a block or two away, it is courteous to let your neighbors know. Apparently you disagree.
-
I said on this board like eight years ago that UND and the Big Sky were set in stone before we were invited Posters like you and others laughed at it, but it came true. Same thing is happening now, but patience is needed. A CCHA will inevitably reform with CHA schools and BGSU at its core. Later after it is more established, WMU and Miami will move because they hate Mountain and Pacific schools, which most of the NCHC love.
-
As said many times, not all the teams will go FBS with the WAC. The BSC will still be FCS in 10 yrs without their top teams. I really don't expect you to follow the logic on exit fees, as that is not your strong point.
-
Business law would hold W Mich and Miami and even the NCHC for not living up to its contract if the MAC teams left. If two higher profile teams were substituted, CBS Sports can still say the contract was not lived up to unless they agreed to waive the change. That is the purpose of exit fees, so the remaining schools don't have so much damage. Exit fees are complicated and depend on many factors. CUSA had a couple million for exit fees and lost like six members with much higher profiled like Houston, Memphis and SMU. After those schools left, the new CUSA contract was worth much less than what is was before with higher profile schools. Schools left in CUSA each received several million to offset the lower TV payment. But that was only for one year. The WAC also had like a $2 mill exit fee, and most of the members had left, leaving the WAC temporarily enriched. The exit fees were how the WAC enticed UMKC to move from the Slummit, as it paid UMKC's much smaller Slummit exit fees and granted them free admission. Idaho needed to leave the conference to gain a it's share of the enormous exit fees once they reduced the WAC exit fees.. NMSU still hasn't collected theirs.
-
A contract would probably increase in value if two PAC12 teams came aboard and two MAC teams left. TV representatives are always at the bargaining table for conference moves and often times the TV side are the instigators of change. The Big 12 wants more than 10 teams as does FOX, but ESPN didn't because they have enough inventory for its needs. ESPN won by having no B12 expansion and the Big12 didn't want to pass them off. (The Big12 has it in their contract that all new teams get more money, which would have meant to ESPN would have paid more.) Having PAC12 teams could complicate the NCHC-CBS contract though, as the PAC12 network might want a piece of the action. That might bE OK for DU and CC and even UND and UNO, but the MAC teams probably wouldn't like it.
-
The exit fees can always be waived if CBS SPORTS is OK with it. W Mich and Miami will hate Pacific Time Zone or even more Mountain Time teams if more come aboard. Somehow the Big Sky says they'll waive UND's exit fees if we leave. Just saying. The exit fees are only there for protection of the remaining schools so it sill has eight teams or worse doesn't lose its autobid or TV contract. An Alabama starting hockey would give a new CCHA an in on a cable contract. W Mich and Miami don't add much value to the NCHC TV contact or tournament compared to a Colorado or Arizona St.
-
Ariz St will be successful on the ice, the question is on it does in the stands and that won't be known for years. Don't think the NCHC will take more team east of Minnesota. If Alabama, Illinois St or some other Midwestern or southern school starts hockey, the CCHA will be reborn and even Miami and W Mich would go there.
-
Recruiting hockey athletes for BYU would be near impossible, as they have a strict honor code. Moreover, there isn't many Mormon hockey players except some from Alberta. Utah and UVU and even Weber St make much more sense for recruiting hockey players.
-
Colo St has the Budweiser Events Center to play in in nearby Loveland. It seats 5200 for hockey, but CSU is so wrapped up in building its new fb stadium and getting into the B12 that it can't afford to start a new sport. CU gets tens of millions in PAC12 revenue, while CSU gets a much smaller amnt from the MWC.
-
Colorado could play in the 1st Bank Center, in Broomfield, which is near the Denver-Boulder Turnpike. One case where a decent sized arena is already built.
-
First of all, its been two years since that NDSU volleyball win. The point was is that UND is so far ahead on talent has been proven out over the past two years. It's not even close. One bad game doesn't destroy destiny. The same applies to UND mens basketball. UND has the potential to get 30 pt win against NDSU based on if the talent, coaching adjustments, shooting %, and crowd participation come together. Coaching puts a big wrench in that, as did sh %, and crowd response.

http://www.midmajormadness.com/2016/12/15/13972218/ NDSU, SDSU, and USD are mentioned here as MVC replacements for Wichita St. Don't think any of them would get offered, as Omaha, UMKC, and Milwaukee have much better media credentials. The Slummit is always losing members because it's the lowest conference on the food chain in the midwest. The Big Sky doesn't have so much movement out west, so it is much more stable. The NEC, the America East and the Atlantic Sun are the other beginning level conferences that have a high degree of instability. The WAC is now a lowly conference too, but if the WAC reorganization gains steam with the Montanas and Idaho and NMSU and Denver based on that it can grant FBS status, that would be a higher level conference than anything listed here. All sports except hockey would benefit by being in a league above the entry level conferences like the Big Sky and the Slummit.

Attendance talk is a big part of the football forum, but should be here to. Watched part of the game and it looked more the 2428 attendance. What's the deal with not having a full house? Hyslop used to be jammed with no replay and the REA would get 8k at least. RealizE that there was an SU game going on, but that attendance is not good. Augustana and Northern St overwhelm us in that department. The NDSU game usually lifts our season average - not this year.
-
Does Park River contribute many players Now? Do Minto and Drayton?
-
After they excellent play against UNI this week (but still a loss), was very disappointed in the NDSU game as NDSU is much less talented than UNI. I want Hooker to get a chance in the Dance, but retaining Jones isn't best for the program. The MSUM coach can deal with X and O's on the fly, recruiting, and public relations. Jones can only deal with one of them it seems.
-
Why not get someone who everyone know bleeds GREEN? Like Fabian or one of the Lameroux Twins? Theyou weren't be nearly so much back biting by fans then, and you would have a coach that would be exalted in the community rather than someone who is viewed as an interloper.

JMU has one of the bigger fan bases in FCS. Ticket prices will drop and drink consumption will fall way off, but the game will be almost full.
