There was no hockey last night, but there is tonight, so it's possible the numbers could be less. We are putting on a first class tournament, though.

Easy solution - go the VB game first, which takes 1.5 hours roughly, and then you've still got plenty of hockey time left after that.

I agree, that I thought the actual number was low compared to the effectiveness of the crowd. It'd be great to pack a couple thousand in there for the championship if we make it. (even if we don't, I guess 2,000 watching a conference championship game would be a good thing)

Just to add to that, most HS teams' VB seasons are over, so no team bus coming to watch a game from a local high school, either.

Some of the area's volleyball fans could have been at the high school state volleyball tournament, which is also this weekend.

Sounds like a nice compromise. Really, how much difference could there be from 17 to 24? Regionalization makes sense after 16.

Only 727 attendance. The women's hockey game against the Gophers going on at the same time probably won't help matters tonight.

Bruggeman hit .294, which was better than Moser, Merselli, and Kaczorowska. She also had fewer attack errors (1) than all of the other hitters (except Griffin, who's not technically a hitter).

Vail and Griffin just could not get in sync. It was pretty embarrassing in some of those early games. Hopefully they can get that figured out for next year.

Without knowing statistics, I'd say Ashley Bruggeman was our best player tonight. Merselli was off. Just some high expectations jitters, I hope. They should be better tomorrow.

It actually was a 3-0 sweep. Sac St vs. EWU was a great 5-set contest.

Yes, 2015 @ Wyoming should have been on my first list. Shame on me.

Some games that come to mind: 1993 vs. NDSU, 2001 vs. UC-Davis, 2006 @ UNI for games of importance to the program and fan base. Other ones that stick out (how important they were is not a criteria) are 1994 @ NDSU (first game in Fargodome), 1994 vs. NDSU (DII playoffs), 1995 vs. NDSU (NFL Films documentary), 1998 @ NDSU (Jimmy Kleinsasser), 2003 vs. NDSU (last Nickel Trophy game), 2011 vs. South Dakota (Great West Conference championship).

So if NAU can go up 3 TD's, can't NDSU? We just let it happen to a team that's not going to make the playoffs. Fortunately we came all the way back and won. If a top 2 seeded team does that at home, I would expect them to close the deal. Maybe not 31-10, but somewhere in that 10-20 point range. Now if we never let it happen in the first place, I'm thinking a different story.

At least there's no team van to drive to airport after this year's tournament ;P

I can't remember if I wrote it somewhere on the forum or just thought it, but I still say we're 2-3 touchdown underdogs to the bison. They probably go up 31-10 on us (like NAU) and we don't recover. But the gap will be even closer in just a year.

No. All I said is that comparing football attendance to NDSU, UM, and MSU is not a controlled experiment due to the hockey factor. I personally think the Al should be sold out every game just like the Ralph is.
