  1. Nice game today too
  2. He was a second rounder and had 20 points his first year. He was coming in off the 2nd rd selection alone
  3. Cross you fingers that would be a colossal get
  4. That would be far more shocking than him decommitting
  5. He’s a D. He may be a nice one
  6. 1st team AA is a true frosh. This is the wrong argument. Don’t need to fight against the grain on everything. (Yes I am aware there are things he needs to work on)
  7. Re Morrow…you are correct…many others would disagree.
  8. He’s playing 3rd line for ntdp right now. He’s a natural center. Ntdp beat us this past year fair and square. And as I’ve said all along, assuming he isn’t comparable to a James or even McLaughlin isn’t that crazy. He’s burried on a great team. If he was on SC he’d probably be putting up big number. I just don’t like losing out on the skill/talent. He reminds me a bit of Troy Terry tbh.
  9. I’ll say it for the third time…I’m next to positive this was a communication thing. When you tell a kid the whole year he’s coming in then telling him he’s not because you placed three older frosh ahead of him and decided to keep two 5th year seniors (one who may be 26 when the seasons over) at the 12th hour. That’s the issue. Had they said all along he should be play juniors I doubt there would have been an issue. And as I’ve said before, a year of juniors probably helps the kid…but again it’s the timing of everything.
  10. Yes you are correct I was thinking mattson.
  11. He decommited when we pulled his scholly…after super mediocre (actually terrible) years in the ushl
  12. Please look at Donovan’s ushl stats (and age of when he put the numbers up). You argument/comparison makes zero sense.
  13. Looks at this guy go…funny stuff
  14. Obviously playing in the ushl wouldn’t hurt him, it’s a nasty league. I think it has more to do about communication.
  15. He was told he was coming in. Coaches pushed him a year. Not sure who is really at fault but I’m sure it’s somewhere in the middle (hopefully). Can’t stand Covid year coupled with portal.
  16. Bingo. Hain and senden are probably more effective next year (maybe) but to lose 4 years of an arguably higher end offensive kid is tough. Especially a local kid. I’m next to positive he was told he was coming in earlier..then they pulled the rug out.
  17. I would have brought him in over strinden tbh in all seriousness, playing a year in the ushl would not have hurt spicer whatsoever. However he’s played against ushl comp for two years and played a half season against college teams. In his head he’s ready for a new challenge.
  18. Yep…that’s what happens when you push. Wtf is going on
  19. Mastrimone in the portal…do we have any F room?
  20. I completely agree with you, he “could” have played this year. I guess my initial point was this isn’t really a Toews comparison because he is a true junior (10/12/04) this year while Toews played as a true senior (4/29/88) at Und. I get it they are only 5.5/6 months apart…but I’ve never heard of a -2 playing college puck. That would be beyond some shattuck type accelerating
  21. Fantilli was a year younger than Toews…he needs to accelerate to play next season. But…he’s also a really big boy. So he could play this year I’m sure.
  22. His birthdate is 10-12-04…he’s a junior in high school right now and accelerating school to play at mich next year. Not eligible for the draft until 2023.
  23. Agreed…grinder that could have played top 6
  24. You have to look at age a bit too and how they play. I’m a self admitted stats/metrics guy through and through. But ness and portz did it as overagers. You have to trend it a bit. I actually like both ness and portz…but they probably won’t be overly productive until their upperclassman years (at best). Guys like Blake/OM are putting up big number fairly young (especially on the PP), they should be nice by their soph years…hopefully sooner.
