  2. Exactly. The community is not ready for a new nickname, therefore they should go about finding a new one very carefully and well thought out. Gershman's article was spot on.
  3. I wish the kid the best. He needed to work on his O game, that wasn't going to happen at the college level...at least not at the speed he wanted to develop. We'll find someone else to do what he would have done for UND
  4. I don't think Schmaltz played against the Czechs today. Curious what's going on. He had 2 assists the last time he played.
  5. Does anyone know if Schmaltz is dressing against the Czechs today? I see he was scratched against the Finns. Barring injury, I'm slightly shocked he was chosen to be sat.
  6. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=728020&navid=nhl:topheads Kid picked the wrong school however I like his maturity.

  8. Very true. I passed some tweets (of him potentially leaving) to one of my buddies....he shot some back, from pretty reliable sources, that he is 100% BC. But the fact there are all these rumors leads one to believe something has happened.
  9. Jerry is a legend....he doesn't lose guys. I thought Milano may be bolting BC.
  10. http://www.gopherspo.../100305aaa.html Preseason polls are obviously terrible however the USA today rankings, and USCHO rankings for that matter, are beyond terrible. How is Miami not higher in either poll? They are loaded up front. They had an odd year last year but I, for one, feel they will bounce back strong. Also, why is Denver ranked so high. They are a good team, definitely, but favorites to be a 1-2 in the country good. Might be a stretch. Biasedly I suppose, UND should be ranked better than Denver. Also CC being ranked ahead of UND, they were beyond terrible last year and lost arguably their best player. We'll let the season play out I guess I have high hopes for this team.
  11. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=727346&navid=nhl:topheads Poganski in.
  12. It is cherry-picking defintely, however for once I agree with you. I like the Oilers. If it makes sense for Edm it makes sense for us.
  13. Ditto. After his freshman season, I have been expecting Mark to explode. At times, he looks so good, the production simply hasn't been there (based on what is expected of thim). Without a doubt, I think he's a pt/gm guy this year (although I said the same thing last year ). I really like his play; hopefully he stays healthy this year.
  14. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=726037 Sounds as though Mark Mac had a decent camp.
  15. It looks as though Schmaltz is having a very productive Hawks camp. Good to see, can't wait for him to suit up for us.
  16. I think Pattyn and Gaarder have to be together on that third line. I will be interesting to see who Hak puts with them. If Hak can roll 4 lines even strength that line makes sense....then I would like to see a young line in the 4th spot. Chyzk/Simonson/Poganski/Murphy/Olson/St. Clair are all fighting for one spots on the 3rd/4th lines. I still think there may be an opening on the second too.
  17. I think that makes sense...I'm hoping 27 can take another step forward. He had a nice middle of the year but drifted off towards the latter part of the year. Typical for a (true) freshman.
  18. Agreed.....and he does have one heck of a shot. If he comes in and is on top of his game (and can play a top 6 role well) that would be huge for this team.
  19. http://www.tampabay....nt-camp/2187391 I too am hoping this is O'Donnell's year. I have not been as high on him as some of the others but sometimes breakthroughs can happen your senior year. We need to have a strong top 6 this year.
  20. I liked the article in J. Schmaltz. I think he is going to have a phenomenal year. In that article (posted on Goon's site) Armstrong noted he is still a long ways away from being a pro...does that mean there is a chance he could come back for his senior year? I doubt it
  21. Ha, 88 more days seems like quite along time. It could be worse I guess.
  22. Great for him, I always liked Chris.
