  1. He can kill a penalty. I would take the Kenny Morrison approach if I were him. If he stays he'll get more opportunity to be out in different situations (in a slower paced game). The A is no joke, you have to be really good to stick.
  2. Agreed, I'm actually shocked stetch is on the list of potential departures. I get that he's an UDFA but the kid had 13 or 14 pts. He needs one more year before he goes to the A. I would think he is 99% coming back.
  3. One would have to assume they would get offers, they were UDFAs. Hopefully they know what's best for them and stay. Caggs needs a dominate year offensively before he leaves...he needs a season where he averages a point per game. As far as stetcher, I would guess the AHL would be easier for him than Caggs (given his super motor and complete level), however Stetch has never really played a lot of PP in the past two years. I would think he would come back next year to round out better as an all around dman.
  4. I agree there. There definitely is more parity, but again the final 4 teams are always good. Even Providence was #2 in the pre-season polls. They started off terribly and than had to deal with some key injuries. Those pre-season polls were pretty close this year. Nice chat guys. I'm going to stay away from this topic for the offseason...it really goes no where I'll stick to 15-16 and our recruits...much more positve vibe.
  5. I agree with you on the parity...but that would explain earlier losses in the NCAAs or a tougher regular season. No matter what year we are talking about, the last four teams will be good in the F4. Going back to those natty years, all four teams were solid.
  6. Nice I like it...thanks. Although a couple of those kids committed today.
  7. Respectfully, I don't agree with that. I still think we dominate college hockey, we've been to 7 FF's in the last 11...that's dominating. If I ask my goof buddy in private if we are a dominate program, he's going to say absolutely. In '97 we had a great hockey team but we definitely were not supposed to win it that year. Even in 2000, we played some super tough teams, we just got it done. Finished the job. I would argue that we are a more dominate program now than we were back than....we just can't win the big one. The one that matters to a lot of fans. Again, it's been tough and confusing all at the same time. I thought this was our year for sure...that Boston trip was tough. Maybe next year.
  8. Hak is a very good coach...who is debating that? However the difference between a good coach and a great coach is......? It's the same rule in every sport. We all know that answer. Again, Hak is going no where and by no means should the man be fired. That would be silly, everyone is just hot off the loss. You can't fire a coach before his contract ends with his success. Now when his contract expires the AD will need to determine if they want what Hak brings to the table (assuming he still hasn't won a natty) or would they like to hand the reins over to someone else to see if they can get our program over that hump. Tough decision. Depends on what you want I guess. I'm still crossing my fingers that Hak gets one before 2018.
  9. I think the all important question is....do national championships even matter? Or are they simply a plus when they happen? To some it seems to matter a lot. To others not so much. To a third group they do matter however the state of the current program appears adequate even though something seems a tad off come April. All parties have their viewpoints and arguments. Honestly, groups #1 and #2 have done their professing (for too long). I honestly think neither party will ever see things the same so maybe we quit talking about it...Hak isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future unless it is his own call.
  10. I'm starting to think Kane may be coming back a tad early. Tomorrow will be the 7 week mark....even Zucker waited 8 and that was a best case scenario. I really hope the Hawks aren't rushing him. In reading the quotes, Kane seems to be the only party saying he's not too sure if he's ready. Scary. Hopefully they just play him on the PP for the first few games.
  11. Murray was getting older. Sometimes it is the right move to go back to college where you can teach and motivate rather than just motivate (and deal with egos). UND would never have a chance at Tippet.
  12. Mario signed a PTO...great news.
  13. Hold your horses bud. Murray was a decent coach. Anyways, you're right Tippet isn't anywhere near ready to walk away from the pro game yet. I just read on Twitter that he isn't getting fired.
  14. I always wondered why stretcher never got a sniff on this years pp.
  15. To open up, I do not want Hak fired however I am getting frustrated with our April record. Ok so that's straight. How many nattys has Miami won ever? Respectfully, some of these comparisons are terrible. Also, please stop comparing nfl qbs to a coaching position. Which great nfl coach never won the big one? And when I say great I mean great. And, what would make those coaches great? Again, I remain confident with Hak but every knows coaches go down for their titles. He'll get his.
  16. We're due....I'm feeling it for next year if we return our boys
  17. Why MN out of all places? I thought you would have said MTU
  18. Many UDFA are underclassman. Usually older guys that matured later.
  19. Completely agree. Jordan was very good for us. Also nick was good as well. You noted his point totals, his numbers would have been a lot better but he wasn't playing with the caliber of offensive players the others were playing with (excluding Rocco but Rocco generates his own points where nick needs a finisher).
  20. Agreed. His shot is legit he just needs more time to round out his game.
