  1. Huh? How did you think about this from reading my post? Obviously winning a natty is the goal for a program of our caliber.
  2. Ha, agreed. We lost a first round defensemen however we were way too deep as it was back there. We brought in two very good defensemen who would have no trouble cracking any other lineup in the country (probably top 4). We lost some older forwards who provided great leadership for us however we also brought in an extremely talented group of freshman (both older and younger). Now I am somewhat shocked that guys like Wilkie, Gersich and JJ aren't hitting the stat sheet a bit harder but that's fine for now. I also thought Pogo and LJ would provide more offense but that's also whatever for now. Boeser come's in as advertised and Schmaltz has taken steps to round out his game a bit. Both are first rounders and are dominating like they should be. Our team is better this year than last year's; hopefully they can make it as far or further when it comes tourney time. I'm hoping guys like LJ, Pogo, Gersich, Wilkie, Olson, and Simo find some of the offense they had in juniors. Other than Pogo last game they have been riding the coattails of that top line. These boys are really good, they need to get some confidence and show up.
  3. Sitting on the bench? He plays just as much as Subban. Either way, Providence is not that great this year so I'm sure it's a different atmosphere than he's used to.
  4. I think there is a small chance the nickname goes away over time. A good meaningful nickname should come about organically. The current students voted in FH and obviously the die hard fans aren't having it.
  5. I don't think there would be any difference to me. This team's D-core is so good that other teams are having problems doing anything against them. They come out of the corners with the puck, their first pass out of the Dzone is awesome, they give other teams 0 time and space, and they are playmakers in the Ozone. I can't remember the last time I've seen this deep of a D core in college hockey, it's been awhile. Couple that with some offensive playmakers and a steady goalie and any coach is going to have a bunch of wins. If they can get some secondary scoring on a consistent basis they should easily have top seed come tourney time.
  6. Terrible feed for me tonight.
  7. schmaltz is a completely different player this year. He's on a whole different level than the others on the ice. Biggest thing I've noticed I his strength and 2 way game. He's one of the best defenders on the ice, super active stick.
  8. Open seats everywhere in Minny. OSU 1 MN 0
  9. Oh boy, Malone fought Tootoo last night. Not good.
  10. Big ice sheets you can trap; it is actually easier to play D. At least at the higher levels.
  11. I too like the variety of rinks but not size. Olympic sized ice sheets need to disappear. Such a boring game to watch if you D up correctly (ex. most recent Olympics).
  12. Yon has been picking it up big time over the last 10 games or so. Such a great idea to play that extra year of juniors. He'll come in ready to contribute next year.
  13. This is going to pull gfhockey out of the woodshed.....but define "get it done:
  14. Check my smiley. I have posted similar comments and other posters have been quick to get defensive and revert back to UND. Not saying you were doing this but it was the first response to my post. Just saying.
  15. Blasphemy that DeBrincat isn't on that list.
  16. Agreed. But what they're doing now is what we were doing in the mid 2000's. Sometimes we need to take the blinders off and appreciate what other schools are doing as well. Quinn is doing a fine job as a recruiter so far.
  17. Boston is getting who they want these days.
  18. I have significant problems when posting from my phone. I receive an error message stating something along the lines of "must enter in all fields". Even though everything is correctly entered. It is hit or miss. Sometimes I can post other times I cannot.
  19. ...so the Mariucci is basically empty.
  20. at this rate agreed. Ahl would be a stretch. He was just on a 3x1 and didn't even peek at the other 2.
  21. No, I don't think he would stay that long anyways. He's on campus 4 years max unless he's a full blown bust.
  22. agreed, I'm not sure what the banter has been about the last page or so. Und definitely has more upside however st cloud is a solid fast team. They play well on that big ice. We lost 6-1 but the boys shut it down once Olson took that game changing bone head penalty. we split to the #7 ranked squad on the road, no big deal. On to next week.
  23. I agree 100%. It's fun to load up that top line but it can cost you when another team can contain them (as they did last Saturday). The 2nd and 3rd lines did absolutely nothing this past weekend. Actually they have never really done anything since the CBS line has been intact. Berry will have to make some tough decisions.
