  1. Would probably increase the likelihood.
  2. So did Jonny Tychonick’s decision to head to Omaha to increase his offensive production work out? Stats say no. Speaking of familiar names with poor stats, Ryder Donovan … Yikes.
  3. Yup. 2007 and 2012, at least. Frankly, happens too much to UND. And in 2011, UND won the final five in double OT against Denver only to have to beat Denver again a week later in the regionals to get to the frozen four. ***2017 too, FWIW. UND lost to Duluth in frozen face off final. NCAA sends UND and Duluth to the same regional the very next week. *****2015 too, as I come to think of it. UND lost to St Cloud in the frozen faceoff. UND beat St Cloud the next week in regionals.
  4. Not a technical term. I just meant flip/change/switch/reverse UND’s comparison with Cornell that the pairwise rankings are based off of.
  5. SiouxSports.com 2005-2015: Fire the coach, frozen four appearances are meaningless without a championship. SiouxSports.com 2016-2022: Fire the coach, a championship is meaningless without more frozen four appearances.
  6. Does anyone know what, if anything, UND can do to flip the comparison with Cornell? Or are we just out of luck on that one ...
  7. He seemed to get "'thee best' recruit" in the league. One of the reasons the 1997-98 and 1998-99 teams were so dominate is because Blaiser had three USHL players of the year on the team--Jeff Panzer, Karl Goehring, and Jason Blake*. Guys like Drew Stafford, Zach Parise, and Matt Greene were okay recruits too. *Yes, Blake transferred.
  8. Karl tried to start an AAA/midget team at the hockey academy a few years ago. Idea was to provide a team for best ND kids to play against better competition. Outside of that, I think ND high school hockey should considering going to two classes perhaps with relegation and promotion. Top 10 teams in AA; bottom 10 teams in A.
  9. They gutted out heroic performances against hockey powerhouses: #5 Williston; and #7 Bottineau/Rugby en route to Fargo.
  10. Despite 2 seasons, disappointing that we’ll only get to see Sanderson in a UND jersey for 40-50 games total.
  11. Ahh, good to know. Must have been recent years?
  12. I don't believe Red River has ever missed state.
  13. Too bad Ralph’s still not around to fund NIL contracts …
  14. Yeah, did I see that right? Rather than directing the puck into the corner, he redirected it right to the middle of the slot.
  15. They're owned/leased by the young guys' employer, and the business writes off the payments.
  16. I don’t know if I’d always agree with you, Brendan Morrison circa 1997. I’ll put my money on the smurfs over your Wolverines any day of the week.
  17. Sorry, you were responding to a comment about winning "major recruiting battles" against other "blue bloods", and I presumed that was the context of your response. So it was pretty concerning if Jason Blake's son was the second person that came to mind when discussing winning major recruiting battles. Perron's a great recruit no doubt, but he always wanted to be at UND, so not sure how much of a battle it was to get him to UND either.
  18. Jackson Blake? If Brad Berry can't win battles for legacy recruits, then maybe he should be canned.
  19. He’s a 7th round pick, though, not a top-10 selection. No room for him at Michigan.
  20. For sure. Kid has a rifle for a shot.
  21. I hear ya. I feel the same way about the stats of the league leader, Stephen Halliday.
  22. Kinda weird then that the only side of the REA scoreboard we can see in the top picture has three Fighting Hawks logos on it. And wait, does the new fascia LED ribbon circling the arena also have a few Fighting Hawks logos? Oh god, look at the new banners--a few more Fighting Hawks logos! Does REA know that all future banners need to have the Sioux logo?!?!
  23. This has to be more likely. If he didn’t want to play another year of juniors, why de-commit and play another year of juniors? Rizzo didn’t commit to Denver until last January. And, at least at that time, claimed he went back to juniors to play his way into a better situation. My guess is Rizzo wasn’t going to get a the top 6 role or power play time he wanted with the caliber of last year’s team.
