I may be off topic if you guys are strictly speaking about actions towards refs, but youth teams will develop a mob-like mentality if they dont have a decent coach. Kids viewpoints can change (during gameplay) to where the opposing team is evil - no longer human almost, as they are too young to really have any perspective on life and they get caught up in their emotions. Kids also see old time hockey fights and play games like NHL Hits and they want to do the same thing, because its fun. Like other kids, youth hockey players are still learning right from wrong. Crazy hockey parents egging them on from the stands doesnt help either, but it all comes down to having accountability from parents and coaches, and if there isn't any things like this happen. Some fighting between youth teems should be expected, but not accepted, imo. There are always just bad apples as well - I played with one in hs that got arrested for assaulting a ref during a game in Fargo. Kid was just wired wrong.

couldn't disagree more about reliability with them. constant buffering for me with their live sports programming. it was nice having all conference games in all sports in the same location on tv though. volleyball has since dropped off my radar because its so hard to track now.

Yeah and I think I'd be fine with that too. Until we have upgraded facilities, Bubba is a perfect fit for the job imo, and UND needs to get Freund more experience at OC if he is eventually going to be head coach (like most of us want).

I'll say it again... why are all of the tickets the same price? Goal line seats are not worth the same as 50 yard line seats.

Sounds kind of like how a hockey coach wouldn't normally work with the goalies. Missing kicks that are within fg range have to be at least 50% technique you would think, though. Kind of like basketball free throw attempts, pitching, or golf. It would be nice if UND had the money to bring some type of specialist in a few times a year to help out - like if Winnipeg Bombers have a kicking coach, or even one of their normal kickers.. Not sure how much it costs or if UND does it, but it would have to help. Technique is huge when it comes to every sport with a moving object, and hopefully someone is giving them pointers.

Would think so, besides permits. Pretty sure the want to finish this before next winter so they will need to start asap. This whole thing developed pretty quickly, so ya gotta think there is still planning to do with the architects and engineering people right? How soon can big jobs like this get started in ND? I believe it starts with identifying a vision for where all of our athletic programs are housed on a daily basis for the next decade and beyond. We hope to unveil this vision out to you all soon with the idea that we want to support comprehensive competitiveness and excellence across the board for our athletic enterprise.

Which is a waste of two seats x how many? Sure. But when we wonder why NDSU is dominating UND in nearly all sports, the answer is and will be money. And what do ya know, they are allowing 50% capacity at their games this spring... Just saying, if we are actually going to social distance etc and not just do general admission like they are at most places with limited attendance, we could at least be a little bit smarter about it. But this isn't just a one time thing either, look at UND cancelling its FBS game this fall while NDSU made a game with UCA work. Look at home scheduling for most sports. Look at facilities. The AD at UND is underperforming, which makes me believe they don't care. If the answer is money, than why are we not allowing 50% attendance and opening up the suites like the the ND guidelines allow?

Does UND even care? Why do they have zero seating areas with 4 seat groupings? You are correct. The current master plan shows that the whole thing will be torn down. I must have been thinking of an older plan that showed only the lecture bowls as being torn down. Glad to see they got something done over there. Kinda wish they woulda stuck with the plan in the original rendering for the main study area though.
