  1. Shouldn't your beef be with Freund? I'd be curious how Tommy's stats compare with Cornrows for longest completions on each of their seasons. Thanks for posting the videos - they are fun to look at. I wouldn't complain if you posted more. Something concrete to discuss. Cornrows play didn't bother me too much, EXCEPT for his terrible pocket presence... INFURIATING! Multiple times, while under pressure, he would turn completely around, with his back to our receivers, and he would run towards our own end zone, and then he would typically get sacked for like a 10-15 yard loss... That's where Tommy makes a huge difference! Not as flashy, but significantly less interceptions/fumbles and lost yards on sacks add up fast. I'd take the non flashy guy any day when a bad sack pretty much ends most drives. Throwing the ball away is also > interceptions.
  2. When Tommy threw that ball, where was the safety that was standing on the J (of JMU at midfield) at the start of the play? Was he near Maag? Also, Tommy getting the ball out quickly is Freunds offensive philosophy... before Tommy even set foot on campus. @Midwestern Hawk you ever listen to Freunds interviews after he was promoted to OC? All he talked about was designing simple plays so that the QB could get the ball out quickly. #chuckingthepigskin throwing bombs isn't really what Freund wants to do no matter who the QB is. At the same time, I think they should have let QV actually run the offense and throw the ball for pretty muich the whole 4th quarter of the Missouri State game. We had a big enough buffer that they could let him play until he made a mistake.... give the guy a chance at least. Our backup QB needs the experience because at some point or another, Tommy will get dinged up. Look at the QB situation last year as a perfect example as to why the backup QB's need to get into games sooner and do more than just hand the ball off.
  3. was this the house that had a porch that was pretty much on the roof?

  6. Why was their first spring game cancelled again? Please refresh my memory. Pretty sure it was because they had snow on their field? Karma

  10. Childrens museum is being built in Minot in part with help from Air Force. https://rejournals.com/kraus-anderson-building-childrens-museum-in-north-dakota/ Designed by Minot-based Ackerman-Estvold, the $14 million project, including exhibit costs, is funded in part by a $6.3 million grant from the Department of Defense, and through public-private partnerships with the City of Minot and Minot Park District.
  11. I guess the ruling upheld a 2017 ruling when the changes were actually made? "The Supreme Court on Thursday unanimously upheld federal regulators’ decision to ease ownership limits on local media, rejecting a claim that the change would hurt minority and female ownership. The court said the Federal Communications Commission acted reasonably in 2017 when it modified rules that predated the internet." So I guess we already saw the changes....
  12. https://www.twincities.com/2021/04/01/justices-uphold-fccs-easing-of-local-media-ownership-limits/ Will this affect local media in ND? Will we see any changes? The old rules prohibited a single entity from owning a radio or TV station and a daily newspaper in the same media market. They also limited how many radio and TV stations one company could own in a single market and restricted the number of TV stations a company could operate in one media market. Republicans have long sought changes to the media-ownership rules. The FCC in 2017, then-run by a Republican chairman, decided that since the internet has so changed media, allowing more consolidation in newspapers and broadcasters would be good for consumers. The FCC now has a Democratic chairwoman who dissented from the 2017 order. But it is not yet fully staffed to let it take on controversial measures.
  13. They should be tested as often as normal students otherwise all of these guys should have been given flue shot.
  14. https://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/bids-sought-host-preliminary-rounds-fcs-playoff Bids sought to host preliminary rounds of FCS playoff 16 potential sites will be identified April 6 March 26, 2021 11:58amGreg Johnson The Division I Football Oversight Committee on Thursday approved a recommendation that up to 16 potential preliminary-round host sites for the 2020-21 Division I Football Championship Subdivision playoff be identified by April 6. Host sites for the eight first-round games would then be selected from those 16 preapproved sites. The Division I Football Championship Committee created this proposal and is following the guidelines set by the NCAA COVID-19 Medical Advisory Group. The deadline for bid materials to be received by the NCAA is April 5. The rationale for this proposal was to ensure all preliminary-round sites are properly certified for COVID-19 testing and have adequate time to coordinate the necessary logistical and operational requirements. By identifying 16 potential sites by April 6, the committee is providing those sites nearly three weeks to prepare for a potential first-round game April 24. Also, selecting 16 potential sites before the selection meetings mitigates the risk that a school may be selected to host a game without its team participating in that game. This approach provides the committee maximum flexibility when selecting host sites during the selection process. During the bracketing process, the committee will pick eight of those 16 preapproved sites to serve as a first-round host based on the makeup of the bracket. The quarterfinal and semifinal host sites also would be selected from the preapproved sites based on the makeup of the bracket. In pre-pandemic times, the higher-seeded team had the option to host preliminary-round games, depending on the availability of its facility, in the FCS championship. The final of the FCS championship will be at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

    Sandy

And only two teams in the entire country have won a championship since then. Everyone except Duluth and Denver should can their coach... On second thought, don't look at Denver's record this year.

    Sandy

Not to mention that when Berry won that championship, these same people were probably saying I ToLd yOU sOOooo!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sandy

You people are bonkers. If anything, Sandy is just luckier. One bounce UND's way this past weekend and nobody is saying a word. In hockey, good coaching puts a team in position to win, but with a single elimination tourney, luck is nearly as important as good coaching. Sandy happened to be luckier this past weekend, as the game went to 5 OT while his team got a bye instead of the number one OVERALL seed in the tourney. Duluth finished 3rd in conference this year, and then got lucky and beat us. UND prob wins 3 of 5 vs them. That doesn't make Sandy the best coach for UND when we already have at least just as good of a coach. Too bad Berry was unlucky enough to have a pandemic strike while we had maybe our best programs best team ever - if we had Sandy the virus prob would have stayed in China... Just because Hack and Berry make it look easy to win doesn't mean it is. Just ask Lucia.
  18. He's as good as most of the scholly guys we had this year, IMO. Played every game and averaged 27.2 minutes a game. No question he earned it, especially with half the team leaving.
  19. It baffles me why players with significant roles on good teams/programs transfer
  20. What are you guys talking about? Can you post a link to the tweet?
  21. Looks like the Alerus is selling their basketball floor? Anyone know if it is being replaced? This due to the Betty hosting hs basketball instead of them (not sure of future plans)? https://www.grandforksgov.com/Home/Components/RFP/RFP/3390/28
  22. All I know is that with the odd Covid fall game vs UCA, the cancelled Oregon game, and the goofy spring win vs a depleted Youngstown State team, NDSU's most recent winning streak has an asterisk.
