  1. Non-Summit NCHC schools would just be affiliates like in soccer, baseball, or other sports. If single sport conferences (going away)becomes a thing, the MAC would definitely be an option for BGSU, the ccha schools, and potentially Miami and WMU as well, however (wmu would be more unlikely to leave). It's not like Miami would be much of a loss anyway, especially if they would be replaced by a school like Mankato, St. Thomas, or ASU.
  2. This interview, along with an interview I listened to with Robert Morris's new head coach, and Fenton's move to the Summit League makes me think that Summit hockey is imminent. I think Fenton was in position to see that change is coming.
  3. Section 201 is probably mostly unsold currently, or saved for group ticket purchases, etc (mostly a guess). I found screen shots that I took in August of previous seasons. Taken 08/28/17 for opener vs Missouri State Taken 08/01/19 for opener vs Drake (prob took screen shot the same day tickets went on sale for this one)
  4. I'm well aware of that. The topic at hand was specifically about a traditional coaches show.
  5. Can you rephrase that, because there is no football show?
  6. Speaking of St. Thomas, has anyone here discussed how St. Thomas cancelled it's arena plans yet? Curious what their new plan is. edit. by cancel I was referring to them removing the arena from the Ford site development. As far as I know, they are still planning to build an arena somewhere.
  7. Pretty sure UND had a football coaches show with midco that was scrapped in favor of a nightly sportscenter-like show which also ended up getting cancelled, correct? First sentence of the last paragraph mentions the football show here: https://blogs.und.edu/uletter/2016/08/athletics-midco-sports-network-sign-five-year-broadcast-agreement/ Edit: The new midco show was Midco Sports Tonight.
  8. Only like 100k. Oh, NDSU's 2m contract also gives Learfield NDSU's sponsorship revenue, licensing revenue, and Fargodome suit revenue.
  9. NDSU played in a game of the week last year, and WDAY lost a game because of it. Zero difference.
  10. Cool to see Midco already listed for the away games, however. Curious if they will be picking up the broadcasts or if they will actually be producing some of them, as they did when UND played at NDSU.
  11. Wow what's with the MVFC deal with ESPN? I just realized that every ESPN MVFC "game of the week" is exclusively on ESPN's streaming platform, as in home teams cant broadcast their home game on TV if it's the game of the week. UND vs UNI is the game of the week and will not be on TV anywhere. Is that correct? Would love to see a copy of that contract...
  12. You have any idea on when an announcement will be made? Like are they waiting on a specific date or are they still fundraising?
  13. Not sure if it was mentioned here, but UAF got hit with NCAA penalties this spring. https://www.ncaa.org/news/2022/3/18/media-center-ncaa-violations-occurred-at-alaska-fairbanks.aspx#:~:text=Alaska Fairbanks and the enforcement staff agreed that the violations, rules education or monitoring processes. Impermissible inducement and benefits violations Alaska Fairbanks, the head men's ice hockey coach and the NCAA enforcement staff agreed that the men's ice hockey coaching staff violated impermissible inducement and benefits rules when they arranged free or reduced-cost lodging for at least 18 incoming prospective student-athletes to stay with representatives and current student-athletes before the school's dorms opened for the fall semester. The impermissible benefits totaled more than $2,000. As a result of the violations, eight student-athletes competed and received actual and necessary expenses while ineligible. Additionally, a representative of the school athletics interests provided an impermissible benefit by allowing three student-athletes to use their vehicle on an as-needed basis for at least 15 days. Head coach responsibility violation All parties agreed that the head coach violated head coach responsibility rules and did not promote an atmosphere of compliance because of his involvement in arranging the housing accommodations. Further, he failed to monitor his staff, did not consult with compliance or self-detect violations that were occurring within his program. Failure to monitor violation Alaska Fairbanks and the enforcement staff agreed that the violations in the men's ice hockey program demonstrated that the school violated the NCAA principle of rules compliance by failing to establish adequate compliance reporting systems, rules education or monitoring processes. Penalties For the men's ice hockey violations, the school, the head men's ice hockey coach and the enforcement staff used ranges identified by the Division I membership-approved infractions penalty guidelines to agree on Level II-Standard penalties for the school and Level II-Mitigated penalties for the head coach. For the certification-related violations, the school and the enforcement staff used past case guidance and Division II Bylaw 19.5 to agree upon penalties for the school. The agreements contain the full list of penalties approved by the Division I and II Committees on Infractions, including: Three years of probation. A $7,500 fine. A two-week ban on off-campus recruiting contacts, evaluations and recruiting communications in men's ice hockey during the 2021-22 academic year. A 2% competition suspension during the men's ice hockey regular season for the head coach (at Alaska Fairbanks or any school that employs him). Vacation of team and individual records in which student-athletes competed while ineligible. The school must undergo an outside audit of its athletics policies and procedures. The athletics director and compliance staff must attend NCAA Regional Rules Seminars each year of the probationary period. All staff members with eligibility certification-related responsibilities must also attend Regional Rules Seminars during the first two years of the probationary period.
  14. FSSD already said he/she pulled that number out of thin air. I was just showing that the REA has a hell of a lot of cash on hand.
  15. Is SDSU still using swimming pool locker rooms?
  16. page 26 Source is NDUS 2020 Annual Report, linked above.
  17. I don't think UND Hockey improved the addidas deal much - its fairly standard compared to other fcs schools. However, UND does actually have a deal in place with CCM for "hard goods", and it seems to be pretty good (though I haven't seen other hockey deals).
  18. McFeely: North Dakota-based BEK buys television signal in Grand Forks This is a really good article that describes the Summit's current situation: McFeely: How valuable is the Summit League? Conference wants to find out
  19. That's great to hear. So we can finally listen to the morning show on Iheart's website?
  20. Midwest Communications will have the rights it looks like. Assuming the contract is still being negotiated. https://apps.nd.gov/csd/spo/services/bidder/main.htm
  21. Is this a newly created position? If so, this should take a load off some of the assistant coaches who currently have to handle some of this stuff, correct? https://campus.und.edu/human-resources/careers/job-openings.html
  22. Great ideas so far. More of the band please.
