Didnt know where to put this, but this is a nice development.

Same. Not making any predictions, but they continue to have the potential to be a surprise addition. Rowing would cover title IX, and in regard to fundraising, I noticed that they have a relationship with Steve Wozniak, who is apparently a big hockey fan? (bonus is they are only 2 hours from Liberty) https://abc7news.com/san-jose-sharks-st-louis-western-conference-finals-game-2/5298627/

Looks like the city of Niagra is desperately trying to build a new events center, which would include a 6-7K seat arena. https://cjsarchitects.com/work/project:city-of-niagara-falls-centennial-park/ Would Niagra look to play there or would they rather stay on campus? Their current arena would make for a nice practice rink. Could make Niagra a great good fit for my new pipe dream conference with a core of Binghampton, Utica, RIT, Sacred Heart. Add Maybe Miami, BG, and the Service Academies. Maybe Robert Morris if they ever renovate their rink (if they built up a recruiting network when they saved the program).

Yes. I did too. It's still worth noting.

Thats amazing! Speaking of North Carolina, High Point added a women's rowing team a few days ago. Their 10 year master plan supposedly includes a D1 hockey arena... could be a sign. Because people are debbie downers when any information in regard to expansion is brought forth, I'm qualifying that by saying they are a long shot, pipe dream, yada yada, etc...
-
It's not obvious because public schools do the same thing.
-
Are you saying it isn't happening?
-
Dont think its been mentioned anywhere, but Ohio State is planning to build a new arena for the women and men (kinda). Seems to be full on legit practice facilities for the men and women, gameday facility for the women, and the men will continue to play at the basketball arena. Rumors are about that capacity will be about 2.5k. They made an official announcement, but it doesn't sound like the plans are finalized yet.
-
That includes academics and the new business building, etc. Not what I was referring to. UND used to publish how much the Champions Club earned every year - had a big check and everything. Pretty sure they stopped doing that for some reason.
-
Straw man argument. Besides, since you didn't have enough money before you won the lottery, DeAnna didn't have your number. You instead donated the money to your church. Why does it matter? Because champions club revenues are stagnant and it allows smaller donors to "buy in". Small donors can eventually become big donors. It's a sign of competence and it helps to create excitement. Because Chaves does not have a track record of success when it comes to fundraising.
-
Why? https://msubobcats.com/sports/2017/9/20/Facilities-MasterPlan.aspx Does that work for you?
-
In comparison, this is what UND has https://fightinghawks.com/facilities. Click the one that says master plan and see what happens.

OK.. Where is UND's announcement page? St. Thomas was still a D3 school when UND started fundraising for phase two of the HPC... pretty clear by now that UND's athletics fundraising isn't the example to follow.
-
Any word on phase two? If shovels are going to be in the ground this spring, we should probably hear something soon.... right? Another example of a fundraising web page which UND doesn't think is necessary for some reason: https://tommiesports.com/feature/lee-and-penny-anderson-arena

I don't think she has any anymore does she? If not, they could still promote the Engelstad Foundation though. I'd like to see Chaves put together a legit NIL deal though - sell jerseys with player names. Fill the ugly gap in the replica jerseys and players benefit... kill two birds with one stone. Completely legal and tons of schools are already doing this stuff. Most schools that UND competes against already have legit NIL deals in place (not collectives) with at least one company.
-
This is a good point.
-
All I know is I don't want Chaves hiring the next coach.
-
Hardly anything was part of your post, to be fair. As I tell my todlers, "use your words".

Please see my last post. UND already looked at it's finances and sports offerings and determined UND can't afford men's golf. NDSU supports the bare minimum non revenue programs. I'll hold my thoughts on the REA, but it shouldn't take a forensic anything to see the problem with golf. The money needed to support the the M Golf operating budget comes from somewhere, right? See where I'm coming from?
-
Seems UND already did this. https://blogs.und.edu/uletter/2016/08/mens-golf-program-will-be-reinstated/ "The plan also calls for an endowment that will be required to sustain men’s golf for FY 19 and beyond. The University and the UND Alumni Association & Foundation will establish the long-term funding dollar amount for the endowment, which will need to be fully capitalized by June 1, 2018 for men’s golf to continue."
-
Can't figure it out. Please explain.
-
Would be. It's odd that you're so hard on Bubba when he clearly doesn't have the same resourses. You expect him to have the same results though. Maybe Bubba shouldn't be the person you are constantly upset with.

SDSU just hired Robbie Rouse, another former UND RB coach. Looks like UND is planning to pay the new RB coach 45k-48,200 According to UND's 2022 NCAA Financial Report, the Mens Golf coach made 68K. Golf generated just over 7K in contributions and 4K in endowment income. This is for a program that is supposed to be self sufficient. Has UND given any official updates in regard to this? I don't think they have. Seems to me that we don't need to spend other peoples money in order to improve the FB and Basketball budgets. The Men's golf budget last year was $212,737. Edit: Looks like NDSU was paying their RB coach nearly double what we were, as of last year. https://forum.siouxsports.com/topic/31929-future-of-the-und-football-program/?do=findComment&comment=1221092 I think people said Rouse wanted to be closer to home when he left for Cal Poly. Makes me wonder what SDSU will be paying him. Kevin Maurice got a pay bump when he left for EWU as well.

Found the document that made me fairly certain about this. https://ndusbpos.sharepoint.com/sites/NDUSSBHE/Meeting Materials/Forms/AllItems.aspx?id=%2Fsites%2FNDUSSBHE%2FMeeting Materials%2F2022%2F2022 Agendas%2F3-22-22 BFC 12-31-21 Mid-Year Report.pdf&parent=%2Fsites%2FNDUSSBHE%2FMeeting Materials%2F2022%2F2022 Agendas&p=true&ga=1

Anyone on the current staff would make sense to me. I don't know enough to say who, specifically. I'm not as smart as most of the people here.
