  1. Call me the optimistic one, but... With our backs against the wall and the sting of losing the past two homecoming games, UND comes out swinging, determined not to make it 3 in a row. Hanson starts and plays effectively and gets the offense back into the swing of things. We begin to get the running game going again as Miller finally decides to act like the 2011 version of himself and start ripping off large runs. While Bauman gets around 120 yards rushing, the defense makes it a little more difficult. The defense, while not what we are looking for just yet, improved by at least getting the basic funamentals of tackling done. They also make NAU QB frustrated as they get 3 sacks on the day, and several hurries. A late 4th quarter touchdown and defensive stand sends the green clad homecoming crowd happy as UND pulls the upset. Making the small flicker of light that is our playoff hopes just a tad bit brighter. UND 34 NAU 27
  2. Benjamin and Goard were hurt during the EWU game, Goodman missed the EWU game because of his injury
  3. Its all hands on deck for this one. This will be the highest rank team that UND has faced at home since going to D-1. UND has lost its last 2 homecoming games, and they must not make it 3 in a row.
  4. Oh crap... shows how much I pay attention, sometime I type with my heart, not with my head.
  5. Im torn on this game as well, I can really see either team winning this one. I think UND will need to come out strong and they will need to finish strong and not let the Bison back into sets. UND knows they can play a very high level of volleyball, but they tend to make key errors at the wrong times. It looks like NDSU is starting to figure things out, and I meant what I said that, especially with this homestand, can spring NDSU to make a serious run at another Summit title. UND needs to be ready to go into a very hostile enviroment. Im sure NDSU wants a little revenge after what happened last here up in GF.
  6. I don't know how long Goodman is out, but I would like to see Jablonski start while Goodman is out. We need someone inserted into this defense that can give this team a spark, and he just might be the guy. I would seriously consider benching Mersereau if he continues to keep getting burned. Yes, he can ball hawk like no other, but I would rather have someone that can cover consistenly and not get burned time and time again and get a pick every once in a while. He should have a short leash for the rest of the year. I would also consider perhaps using a taller corner for a play or two to see what he can do. Mersereau is our tallest person in the secondary (6'). Try to get more pressure on the QB. I think that was the only thing I truly liked about last night that we got 3 sacks. If there is one major thing that this team can improve on D this year? HOW ABOUT WE TACKLE!!!! Basic tacking fundamentals please, and if for whatever reason you can't make the tackle, hold them up for the rest of the troops to come. At least if we can do that, the defense will be light years ahead to where we currently are. If we keep getting shredded like this the rest of the year... FIRE THE DC! Simple as that. This defense needs to be challenge right now, if for whatever reason it hasn't already. Put something up as bulletin board material, make them do wind sprints till they puke if they miss a tackle in practice, anything at all. Get the message across that this is not acceptable anymore and starting jobs and playing time will be on the line for those who can and cannot answer the call.
  7. 2 quibbles with this theory 1) That opening drive was a touchdown running the ball. If we were having success running the ball and they were having problems stopping the run, why throw? 2) Hendrickson was robbed by a crucial drop by Jackson in the 2nd series, if he just catches that ball perhaps that changes things a little bit. It could have been a little high, but Jackson had 100% no excuse for dropping that one. If you get two hands on the ball, you need to catch it. Its a moot point anyway, Hanson will more than likely start against NAU. At the very least he did perform halfway decent in this game, and another week of healing and running the 1st team in practice will do wonder. Right now we have bigger fish to fry with this team.
  8. So the 2 questions I pose tonight Where do we go from here? How can we turn this thing around?
  9. I think that was the biggest frustration of the night for me (other than the terrible D) was how the QB situation was handed. I understand you want to give Hanson reps. I get that. Marcus lead a great first drive, his second drive was plagued with a drop pass. Then you yank him? The EWU tv guys had an absolute field day on this situation, they pretty much were like "what exactly is UND doing" On a serious note, anybody hear anything on Goard? What exactly happened on that play?
  10. on top of that.... we got a player down (don't know who)
  11. the wheels are coming off fast
  12. run an actual play and try to kick a fg... please
  13. There we go! 27-17 EWU
  14. quit pulling a Marquis Gray Hendrickson....
  15. hey now... that was the best series the defense has played. Good work D. 3 and Out
  16. Gotta get 6 on this one
  17. That is NOT.... what we needed Kickoff return 20-10 EWU
  18. Miller 37 yarder is GOOD! 13-10 EWU
  19. Golliday JUST missed a great catch......
  20. EWU tv guys are wondering why Hanson is in. He is looking pretty good so far, other than the sack
