  1. I hope he can develop into a dt. He's got an unbelievably strong upper body and could throw people around in the run game.
  2. Those clips were from his junior year correct?
  3. Since Jake Miller ran a 4.4 40 last winter it's safe to assume that Robertson is at least very close to 4.3 territory.
  4. Jay Nelson is an example of a walk on. He showed up on campus and asked the coaches for a tryout and eventually became a starter. Devin Coyle is a freshman safety and was a preferred walk on from Mandan. Preferred walk ons participate in fall camp and often earn a scholarship. School start walk ons rarely last a full five years and proffered walk ons are much more likely to be retained. School start guys are either projects with raw potential like Jay or bodies to fill the scout team and work hard and sometimes earn playing time. A solid walk on program is a staple of a successful program. Und and ndsu have good walk on programs, Nebraska has one of the best.
  5. Depth breeds competition for playing time which leads to greatness. The opposite situation is why our corners suck. We need to model other position groups after our wrs. They will all be better because of the competition and hopefully that creates a courageous competitive atmosphere with the whole team
  6. I have some good news regarding the WRs for this next season. JJ Robertson is officially the fastest guy on the team. I've heard it's not even close and that his initial step is an explosion. Also he is very well built for a WR already. Mollberg and Bartels have themselves quite the opportunity.
  7. I'm sure if there was anything to be worried about with Carr Iverson would tweet him about it since they seem to have built a decent relationship and tweeted eachother about the recruiting process before.
  8. So teh 'hot goalie' was a hoax and we made it easier on him than we should have? Now that you mention it that is how I remember the game. UND was content to chase the puck around instead of pounding Michigan into submission like had been done to UMD and UM and basically every other team they played.
  9. I hope that was just for scout team purposes. He's got an ideal frame for a dl in the 3-4.
  10. My last post on this subject. You can talk to yourself about it if you need.
  11. You are an incredibly bad reader. High level? You automatically think that means beyond highschool? You can play hockey at a high level and never play beyond highschool. I played your game. You'll keep moving the line so I won't worry about getting there.
  12. I wouldn't call that goal a fluke. Central came out scared for the first 5min or so and red river put one in in the second min or something like that. Once central stopped playing scared and tentative they kept the game more even and gave red river I little test.
  13. I didn't bring it up. You asked. How's this. Have you heard of Dennis Johnson? He might have a son on the team.
  14. He could be our Crockett.
  15. Funny I'm at the central game right now and am a central graduate. I know parents on the team and my in laws have a son on the team. That's all the info you'll get from me so don't ask for names because you shouldn't so naive to expect me to divulge such info. One quick question. How is it relevant if a parent played at a higher level than highschool? Playing ability matters not when knowing the game of hockey, but you knew that didn't you.
  16. My sources are legit. In fact it has more merit than all of the fire Hak arguments. Funny how nobody has a single thing to say that's an actual argument.
  17. I never said win it as in a title. Win as in a good competitive team that does better than expected in the tournaments. That used to be the standard at central. The question about the first year they didn't make it to state...... It was recently. Good question ill guess 08 or 07. How bout instead of questioning my opinion someone come up with any type of counter point. Anything. So far all it's been is 'prooooove iiiiit' and 'says who?'
  18. A good coach can win with minimal talent. Since he's coached at central the only time they win is when they are talent rich like 2010 with Ladue and Johnson and company. In years past central would compete whether they had a lot of talent or not.
  19. Here's a thought. How bout instead of just being the antagonist you bring something to the table as to why you are defending him so blindly.
  20. Ivery was a safety last season. Not sure if he's fast enough for cb. If he is or could be I would throw him out there in an instant with his length and ball skills. Allen needs to gain a lot of weight before he'll be a factor at ilb. Peters disappointed last season. I'm looking for Rittelle to be the other starter there next fall if Labat doesn't leap frog them.
  21. I've yet to hear a bad thing about him.* * from players or coaches** ** not parents
  22. Don't have any kids yet. When I do I won't go to battle for them. They will earn everything they get.
  23. I'm not talking about those moms and dads whose kids are all stars at life when I say I haven't heard anything good about Bina. I'm talking about the parents that played at a high level and know a terrible coach when they see one. It's one thing if the jv and 4th line kids' parents are complaining about the coach but in this situation it's every parent from the 1st line of varsity to the 4th line of jv. The fact that you can't notice the difference gives me serious concerns for your intelligence.
  24. I think you may have undersold Labat a little bit. I saw him this winter and he looked absolutely jacked. He's got to be pushing 230. I would expect him to push Peters and Rittelle for playing time.
  25. Lets say that did happen hypothetically. The last person I would look at would be the coach. I blows my mind when parents blame a coach when their kid isn't very good and gets cut or doesn't play. Perhaps my biggest pet peev is the whole 'not my kid' delusion, it's pathetic. As far as this is concerned, I know a good coach when I see one and he is not one. If he was there would be some parents and former players singing his praises. That is not the case, even with those kids who won the state championship in 2010. He's a terrible coach, that's all I've ever heard about him and its pretty obvious from watching some games. Next time someone disagrees with this please give a reason in support.
