What makes this whole endeavor impossible is that some in state players won't require a full scholarship and neither will kids who have also earned academic scholarships
I think the team will get back to the power running game. The only difference now is we have unreal talent at WR where before we had only one or two good ones. This allows us to take advantage of whatever defenses give us. But most of all we need to pound it with Shaugabay.
I don't think that UND is trying to become a Houston type offense that scores points at all costs. Early last year we tried to run the ball like the year before and it wasn't clicking. So we aired it out the next few games like never before and had success. Then against Sac St we pounded the rock and demoralized them. Against EWU we marched right down the field on them running the ball. Then Breitbach had the bright idea to change QBs the next series and pass only. You'll see und run the ball more this year and be more creative in general. Remember coach Luke won a NC with a power running game, he knows how important it is to pound the rock. Once depth is what it needs to be at all positions I'd expect to see good balance again.
You're such a troll. [purple].
I've been saying for a while that ndsu has the defense they do in large part to the way they handle their offense. The defense is really good but the offense keeps them fresh and usually gives them long fields at least if they don't score.
I don't want und to play that style of offense but I'd like to see us run way more. Spread it out and burn people but also line up and smash a 4 yard run over the middle again and again and again until the lbs can't take it anymore and then hit the deep ball over the top would be nice to see again.
The one thing about sdsu that gives me hope for a win is they replace 6 starters on defense. They also don't play teams with our type of wr depth. If we can get our run game going we'll have a nice chance at a big win
tough to say who can 'can get' at this point since the summer is long and filled with camps and potential offers and none of these guys have played their senior seasons.
He's got two years to make a big splash, not just a little blip on the radar. We also have a future head coach type in kotelnicki on staff that could step up and keep a lot of the other coaches intact.
Offer to Washburn RB Raymonte Maynard. Could be a diamond in the rough kind of guy since his backfield mate is the top player in MN and a 4 star recruit.

They lost 7 starters on defense. The offense will be better than last year but I'm not sure the defense won't be worse. I see our offense giving them headaches but I also see their offense giving our D headaches. Very interesting match up.
