The first home game is the most important of the season for winning new fans. We must put on a good show especially for the new freshman. Make a good impression on them and they're more likely to keep coming back and having a good time. Same for bandwagon fans that might be checking out this Santiago kid.

I think last season set the table for this one which will be the redefinition of the UND football program. This season we will gain respect nationally. The atmosphere will increase big time as the football team ascends the rankings.

That may be a bit of a stretch. Recruiting is such a crazy shell game at times that I don't think you can put that much blame on a kid. Some of these coaches are very good salesmen, aka manipulative. They know what they're doing and not all have the best interests of a kid at heart. Fortunately I feel our coaches truly care about what's best for each kid.
