    His being from Illinois gives him an advantage in this situation. His view of this logo isn't tainted like us locals. But let me make one thing clear, this logo could be a lot better. It could also be as bad as people think it is, which it isn't.

    The hockey team will clearly continue to hang out in their bunker by themselves. I'll still cheer for them as always but they should join the community some time.

    You apparently don't know how things work on teams. If the coach says to cool it on social media with the new logo then you do that or there will be consequences. No ifs ands or buts. Bubba's guys know what he expects of them on Twitter and all other forms of media. Bubba's the man.

    This new logo would make a nice secondary logo in the future. We can do better but could have done much much worse. Like a lot worse.

    This is basically how I feel as well. Shut up and play. There are thousands who would love to wear that ugly logo and represent UND so don't act entitled.

    This is what happens when you let the public decide things that involve design and branding. Leave it to the pros. It's too bad Schafer wasn't here the whole time because the process to pick a name would have made sense and I would assume our nickname would have been better than Foghting hawks. O well... Time to make the best of what we have. I'm just glad we have Bubba leading the way.

    Anyone remember when the Wild came out? EVERYONE hated the logo and the name. Now you see Wild stuff everywhere with the same lame logo and the same lame nickname. North Stars forever!

    There's no doubt in my mind that we will eventually have a kick ass Hawks logo, just not quite yet. In the mean time I'll support my university and its sports teams just like I always do.

    Some of the complaints a lot of you are coming up with are pretty hilarious. God himself could have done a Fighting Hawks logo and people would still nitpick and whine. Move on, this won't be the logo for the next 1000 years.

    Does anyone know if Mercer is actually good? There's only his highschool film that I could find and that was pretty useless since he was playing qb. I guess we'll have to just assume he's good and trust the staff.

    Perhaps he's a little upset about getting screwed on the sioux logo and then not allowed even a chance to do the Hawks one.
