  1. Ehh, i'm not too sure about that. I saw Bruno play when Vermont was in Minneapolis this year and he didn't stand out at all, even on a team as bad as Vermont. He's only got 8 points this season. His younger brother is a D man and has more. He could have competed for ice time on the lower lines with UND this year and been another body on the roster, but I think that's about it. I believe he's second line at Vermont, I'd have to imagine if he did play at UND he would be a 4th liner.
  2. He's probably fine with his decision. If there weren't so many injuries those 2 would never play. Sometimes the injury bug bites teams and there's not a whole lot you can do. Minnesota's been bitten the last few years, granted not near as bad as UND has been this season, but they've had some pretty big ones.
  3. The Bjugstad, Rau and Zucker line was by far the most effective line against the Czechs, they just couldn't buy a goal. I expect to see that line together again for tonights game.
  4. Yep the SID. I don't read much of his stuff either, but on the chat he's always telling people there's nothing you can do when you run into a hot goaltender whenever they're losing haha. Very true, in the end it's a team game.
  5. I think Jayson is far worse at blaming losses for a hot goaltender than Schlossman is. Pretty sure he's blamed every loss for a hot goaltender this year haha. Schlossman has blamed a few on hot goaltending, but not all of them.
  6. I'm very disappointed by the play of this team. I expected to compete for a medal very easily. I didn't expect gold, but for sure a bronze. Now we just have to hope that no more players get injured for any significant amount of time.
  7. The problem is the 2 losses thing. They still need to beat either the Czechs or Canada. And i'm sure we can all agree the Canada game is a long shot.
  8. Well Bjugstad is gone after this year for sure. It all comes down to some of the other guys decisions on the team. But it is true that Lucia has A LOT of forward commits that are considered blue chip recruits for the next couple seasons. The guys that i'm excited to see play are the Reilly brothers.
  9. alright, Midcontinent contacted me back today and said they will be getting the channel soon and that it will be announced soon as well. Hopefully I don't need to buy a new package to get it...
  10. Yep haha, that's how they do it. I just looked at results from the level below and next year Germany will be competing in the Championship level. They beat out Belarus about a week and a half ago. What I find interesting is that I have always thought of Norway to be a decent country in hockey, but they only finished 3rd in the DI level. Here's a link where you can see all of that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_World_Junior_Ice_Hockey_Championships
  11. I believe Denmark just qualified for it last year by winning the "Division I" level tournament. There is the World Championship group (which is what we're used to), Division I, II, and III. I believe the bottom team of each division every year move down one level, while the top team from lower levels moves up one group. That would explain why Belarus isn't in it this year.
  12. Coyle from BU with a hat trick, Rau with 2 goals, Bjugstad with the GWG. I saw one assist by Forbort, I missed some goals so he could have had more. Did anyone else think Denmarks 2nd goal was bad PK combined with bad goaltending? Campbell looked out of position to me, covering way to much on the short side
  13. I contacted Midco the day this channel was announced, as I assumed, they WILL NOT be getting FSN Plus. Only God knows why, considering the tiny cable companies in the lakes region all carry it. I hate them with a passion and this is just more reason to hate them. Once they do get it i'm sure they'll make it so you have to pay to get the channel.
  14. That's a good point too. There are players from all over the country now, and even Minnesota has started to change their recruiting habits to find some people from around the country. This year they have a freshman from Missouri and they have a recruit coming in from Florida as well soon. The state of Minnesota is definitely a hub, but the game has grown throughout the country and you can find players all over now.
  15. That's a very good point. Teams like Denver, CC, etc. will probably find it harder to recruit in Minnesota after a couple years, while all the Big Ten schools will look more towards Minnesota. I know Michigan relies mostly on Michigan kids, but I wouldn't doubt them coming into Minnesota once the B1G conference is formed to find some recruits.
  16. I can actually easily see FSN picking up the conference tournament. But there's absolutely no chance of getting FSN for the regular season.
  17. I was always wondering what happened to him too. My friend played with him at the Little Ralph in TRF quite a few times last year during open ice times and said that he was really, really good.
  18. This will be the hardest because it's probably the least talented team he's had and with the low inter-conference record of the WCHA it will be tough to get back into it. But with all the departures going around out east along with the fact that there is no way 7 CCHA teams will make it into the NCAA tourney, UND has a pretty decent shot. No matter what, these holiday tournaments are huge for the WCHA, especially Minnesota's game against CCHA opponent Notre Dame January 7th.
  19. All 6 teams make it so Minnesota would be guaranteed there! I actually like the format the B1G is going to do. It will obviously be held primarily at Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan, but I like the idea of it being at the #1 seeds venue. Even though both Michigan schools arena's are dumps (ESPECIALLY States, at least Michigan's is being kept because of the history and tradition).
  20. Minnesota played Wisconsin in the Target Center 2 years ago. It wasn't the best hockey building or atmosphere, but there's definitely worse.
  21. Twin Cities and Omaha would have to be the top 2 choices in my opinion. Denver wouldn't be too bad, at least it's somewhat of a destination city. That would probably be their last choice though.
  22. These tweets just came from @LetsPlay_Hockey: "The Target Center is interested in bidding on the NCHC's year-end tournament, beginning with the start of the 2013-14 inaugural season. The venue search is being led by the Goldwater Group. The NCHC is expected to name their new commissioner by the new year." What are peoples thoughts on this? I know that if my team were in the NCHC I wouldn't want to be at the Target Center for hockey. But if for some reason they cannot get the X, could this possibly be the next best place? Thoughts?
