Wow, what a year!! I still had a grin as I was walking out of the game, hard to believe we got that far. I think the Gophers had some extra pep from that hugh serving of humble pie they were served last Friday. Maybe it helped them understand the philosophy of TEAM playing. It was amazing that the Gophers did not get a goal in over 3 minutes of open net. For the last two games together, the Sioux and Gophers tied at 8 goals apiece. Thanks, Sioux, for all the memories this year!

As we were walking out after the game, a Gopher fan standing on the sidewalk gave us a wistful smile and said "Congratulations". So there is at least one Gopher fan out there that is fair, polite and just plain CLASSY. Yes, we did say " Thank You".

I do believe the time has come to retire the name but I would really like to see a contingent of Native Americans wearing the Sioux jerseys sitting in the bench behind the UND hockey team at the NCAA finals.

Does UND have any sports that are not affected by the NCAA? We should start some of those so we can have a Sioux team to cheer on if the "keep the name" vote goes through. How about water polo or kangaroo wrestling?

Matt Frattin is a good example for 3 reasons: 1. Proof there is a limit to what the coach will put up with 2. If you straighten yourself out and grow up, you will have a second chance 3. You are a much better hockey player if you quit being a jerk and pay attention

I never had the chance to go to college so naturally I never graduated from UND. However, I have lived in Grand Forks for over 40 years and have worked with students, faculty, and support staff. I have been an avid UND sports fan for years. UND is a large part of this community and is interwoven with the essence of Grand Forks. Please do not tell me that I cannot have any feelings or loyalty for UND. I like to think I bleed green. That said, I feel the people close to the situation can evaluate it a lot better than I and I definitely bow to the knowledge and evaluation of Fighting Sioux people like Dale Lennon, Tim O'Keefe, Dave Hakstol and the legion of former students and athletes that are saying the time has come to retire the Sioux name. Thank you for letting me vent.

If the '69 Pipe ceremony is binding, why doesn't the SR council agree with it?

I still remember him making one of the best saves I ever saw. He was on the far right side of the crease, open net, puck came from the far left and somehow he was able to stretch and make the save. He got the "it's a miracle" bow from everyone in the stands.

If you see a truck coming at you and it is moving over the center line, do you stay in your lane or move to the side. You are in the right lane but do you want to be right or would you rather be alive and wrong? Sometimes concessions have to be made.

After seeing reports listing the UND Sioux in South Dakota and hearing other parts of the country thinking it was the Sioux playing football when NDSU was playing, what would be the chances that recruits from other parts of the country could confuse NDSU and UND? Seems to me that recruiting could harm South Dakota as well as NDSU and UND as long as the sanctions are in place. Anyone else see this as a possibility?

Rather weird, I don't remember seeing any bad calls by the refs!

I may be a little confused, but if there is a conspiracy issue, isn't the big pink elephant in the room the Standing Rock council? UND is getting blamed for not recognizing the agreement years ago with the elders, but isn't the council saying the elders did not know any better and it doesn't count?

Anyone remember the video clip of HEAVY METAL HOCKEY that Pat Sweeney and WDAZ sports had on? It was labeled as done by Dr Plecebo. A few of the lines I remember went like: Hrkac fakes, he shoots, he scores! Bob Joyce, you control the boards! Ian Kidd wants to go to Detroit too!
