Tonight, Ottawa Senators beat the Buffalo Sabres 6 - 2, Shane Pinto had 3 assists, then finished with the empty net goal. A 4 point night!!!

Both Jacksons had a goal and 2 assists, they assisted on each others goal. Hope they keep them on the same line!!

Last night Troy Stecher got an assist (10) and a goal (2) for the Calgary Flames!!

Brock Nelson got 2 goals tonight, only one assist on each, both by Zach Parise.

Another 4 point night for Nick Schmaltz, this time 3 assists, 1 goal.

4 point night night for Nick Schmaltz last night! 3 consecutive goals, 1 assist !!

And his second on Thursday 1/26 !

I've seen many times that when the third string goalie is put in, the team gets protective and plays much better defense.

Kleven with his 2nd and 3rd goals of the season, his last on the PP. Hope this convinces him that it is a lot more fun to score on the power play than to watch the other team score from the penalty box!!

Midco was very clear tonight, I just wish they had a shot clock that showed, only saw the shots on goal a couple of times during the game. Didn't Gabor have the goal that was called off because of offsides? There went his hat trick. Also, shortly before Farmer's penalty, I thought I saw a contact to the head against us while play was at the center of the rink. Anyone else see that?

I doubt Arizona would have been celebrating so much if they had considered UND a mediocre team. They must have considered this an unexpected win.

Diversionary tactics.

Watched the Olympic Shootout, didn't think any of them looked near as good as Ashton Calder did with his penalty shot and shootout win.

I didn't see Budy out there a lot but when he was, he seemed to be moving pretty good. Isn't it his second game back from an injury?

The Program sheet at the hockey game only lists 7 that are Seniors, the rest are Jr, So, or Fr.

Looking at the NHL for last night. In a 5-3 loss to Seattle, the only Florida Panther player above a 0 on the plus/minus was Matt Kierstad with a +1. Is this as rare as I think it is?

Looking for some positive outlook: How many penalties and penalty minutes has Kleven had in the last 4 games?

I remember sometimes at the Old Ralph, you FELT the next goal coming instead of just hoping for it. (Especially during 1987) Some of the lack of audience participation is due to cell phones, when the fan beside you looks up and asks "what period is this" is ridiculous. Using the phones for hockey questions and trivia on the jumbotron does help keep them more involved in the game though.

Ours has basically been a land of economics. A game bringing in 11,000 paying fans a game would have more income than a team bringing in less than 1000 paying fans. Yet many say the teams should be funded equally. Saying it is sexist that women don't get paid as much as men in pro games ( thinking Olympic soccer ) does not prove itself unless they are bringing in the same income. Then they would have a legitimate gripe. No, I am not an economist but this seems like basic budgeting to me.

Next Friday morning, can we have someone hypnotize the team and tell them they played and lost last night and it is now Saturday?
