Tough deal for the students, coaches, and staff affected, but it had to be done. Nothing UND can do about the WCHA or one of the WCHA members leaking the story. The players affected will complain on social media for a while, the same as the baseball players did, and I can't really blame them. It's disappointing to see the sexism card played immediately, but not unexpected. Great to see UND has a real president again!!

Men's golf is on its death bed. That'll bring us to 16. Started with 21, cut men's baseball, men's golf, men's S&D, women's S&D, and women's hockey. Last prior sport cut was men's wrestling 15+ years ago.

That was only $120+ million of actual state money though! The state is out to get Grand Forks because it didn't force Bismarck to give its tax incentives to downtown Grand Forks or force Sanford to build a big new hospital in a town that it tried to open a clinic in but was blocked by Altru. Grand Forks never got any flood cash either! #IAmAngryAndIDontKnowWhy!!! #OhTheHumanity

Though having a team in your conference with an fcs loss certainly doesn't help the strength of schedule.

Best of 3 series potential there as well. It is nice having 2 weeks to make travel arrangements though.

Meh. I'll take the conference championships and national exposure in sports with fans.

It's kind of like winning a women's hockey national title. Vast majority of students and alumni at those schools would prefer a football or basketball conference championship.
