Currently it's looking like Kostich will remain ST Coord. "Promoting" Freund to take over that role and QBs gives him a new job while being a promotion really in name only. More of a reassignment. And it gets ST out of Kostich's incapable hands. OC and OL would still be "fresh," the same as it appeared would happen yesterday afternoon when you were giving off the appearance of happiness for the first time in 18 months.

Just my opinion/guess, but I'd say the majority knows we need to move on, are trying to move on, but are still struggling to embrace the current name and logo. The new name is tough to get excited about and the new logo, although unique as far as NCAA sports goes (good for creating an identity), is not gaining much/any traction among the hockey crowd. It doesn't help that those who do embrace the name and logo are often ridiculed by Sioux forevers, making cheering for the hawks something that doesn't seem worth the fight. Perhaps 3-5 years from now, once things have settled a bit more, people will be more willing to accept a new logo. At that time, the REA and hockey staff will need to be fully on board, or nothing will improve. They could've helped a lot with the current logo, but they didn't, and it's likely too late to salvage now.

One issue, and I hope it's not the only reason, could be money. Scheduling the away portion of a home and home for 2019 means around $100,000 in extra travel cost for 2019. Scheduling an fbs money game would mean another likely loss. And paying another non scholly fcs to come to the Al would also be around a $100,000 loss.
