  1. https://www.grandforksherald.com/opinion/editorials/4580429-our-view-be-fair-assessing-und-news Herald editorial on Kennedy. Surprisingly balanced given their prior coverage.
  2. Nor should there be. Spending a year in that place is a rite of passage
  3. I'd say a lot of those buildings needed to be demolished. This tweet isn't going to attract many new students though
  4. He better get to work on recruiting and retaining on-campus students, starting with taking care of the buildings already on campus and filling faculty and dean positions.
  5. Now it'll be a skywalk and elevator attached to a "mixed use housing" building . Could actually be convenient. Plenty of space to build a parking garage on the other side of that building too
  6. I think it'd look nice too. Just curious if it ends that dream of a sports complex area over there.
  7. https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/4568696-legislative-approval-not-needed-potential-und-land-sale UND considering selling the parking lot east of Columbia and south of University Ave for fraternity/sorority housing. 8. Crazy
  9. That was the old narrative. Try to keep up.
  10. Like many SV theories, it'd be nice if it was true.
  11. Pres B is stealing old guy quotes now!?!?
  12. But President Bresciani said if you repeat a lie often enough it'll become the truth.

  14. Caffeine sounds a lot more innocent than stimulant though....
  15. $3.7 billion
  16. I believe it was with the building of the Betty. So around 2004.
  17. Seems crazy, but $1800 will get you what, maybe 1 month in an assisted living facility? And that $1.4 billion is for 2 years. A lot of the state's human services spending is for the elderly and for medical costs.
  18. Sure, but the $1.4 billion from the state's general fund is a lot of money. As for state spending on ag and corporate welfare, I don't disagree with you. It won't move the budget needle much though.
  19. K-12 school spending was doubled and human services (welfare programs) were tripled in the last 10 years. They now comprise around 65% of the state budget.
  20. I don't disagree we've got a spending issue compared to other states.
  21. The tax collections per capita include the oil tax revenue, 30% of which is going into the legacy fund and not being spent.
  22. Found the article with donation amounts. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.westfargopioneer.com/news/education/4443817-i-want-see-him-do-his-job-kris-engelstad-mcgarry-describes-hostile%3famp
  23. They have donated some to the REA for the locker room and new video board. I believe they gave a few million to UND for academics between 2009 and 2013 too.
  24. He made the decision, but not until after the IAC had their coach begathon and chose to not make a decision, and after the state cut funding an additional 5%.
