agreed, although NDSU has closed the gap a little bit with the developments along 12th. Their campus is just too haphazard.

there are some pretty solid college towns on that list, and both schools and cities should be on the list and thrilled about it. I think 5 years ago Grand Forks likely would have and should have been above Fargo. The school and city did a lot to curb the party school rep, and all in all I think it made Grand Forks a worse place to be a student. Noise Ordinance, Spring Fest crackdown, zoning issues, voting issues.

it was pretty close. I based that number around the number of tickets SHSU returned unsold from its allotment (something like 600 tickets). I don't think a huge number of people would pay $150 market value when they could get them from retail from the school. SHSU had around 5k people there. That leaves 16000 for NDSU.

i suppose i could get sources if you'd like, but the 16k in frisco and 5k+ at CSU and USD aren't exactly up for debate. Those got enough press that even sioux sports shouldn't be able to stick its head in the sand.

NDSU last year featured 6 away games and half those games had more than 5k ndsu fans. CSU, USD, SHSU. I have no idea how many went to SDSU, UNI, or MSU, but the first two were also in the multiple thousands. NDSU wins this particular pissing contest by a landslide, and it isn't close.

UND hockey maybe compete at the highest level of collegiate hockey, but it is not the highest level of amateur hockey and hockey in general features a lower caliber of athlete than football, and in our own institution features a lower caliber of athlete.

This year was also the most watched series ever or damn close to it, and nearly doubled the average ratings. On average, the SCF averages about double the ratings of the FCS playoffs.

I love that I get bashed as a bison fan for saying something positive about the football team. Hayduke takes a !@#$ over the entire athletic program and no big deal. also if you were literate you would notice i was comparing BCS football to the NHL, and the FCS to NCAA hockey.

having seen plenty of UND football and hockey players in the flesh over the years, I would say that the football team is without a doubt features the better athletes. For that matter BCS title contenders almost universally have a higher caliber athlete than NHL teams. Also, traditionally the ratings for the Stanley cup aren't much higher than the FCS title game.

oh aren't you cute. The idea that UND fans can use 62-45-3 as a way to say that UND is a superior program is insane. Do we have no other talking points, or is that really the best there is?

I love that 10>1 is a tired argument, but games that happened before any of us are born aren't.

I hadn't realized EWU played OSU this year, osu is pretty solid, but EWU has the big-play potential on both offense and defense to pull off a win. Between, them, sdsu (nebraska), and ndsu, i think we could (should?) see another top-25 upset this year. The more I see about EWU the more I think they should be the solid favorite in the BSC this year.

I feel that there should be some sort of legal process before killing a dog. Generally a completely f'ed up situation though, the guy is lucky to not be dog food.

i think eric lora might be the best player in the subdivision this year. its a pretty loaded year at running back. I think maysonet is the only departing premier RB from 2012.

Who said anything about that? He asked for a situation in which offering high-end long shot athletes could backfire, and I gave him one. Sioux sports can be so sensitive and easy to offend sometimes.
