I am a Bison fan(Finance Major)....and a Gopher hockey fan(Sky-U-Mah!), That said, UND consistently has churned out solid second half teams....think of it like a stock market. Trends are a real thing. UND is consistently a second half team....whether or not that is Hak's doing is up to the educated hockey folks. But as long as I can recollect...UND has been traditionally done well in the second half before crashing and burning in the national tourney. Whether that is because they run into a better team or a "hot goalie" or whatever is beyond me. I am not a hockey mind. I look at things from a trend perspective. UND may have been the best team in individual seasons in certain seasons throughout the past years....but hockey is a weird game from what I have gathered(I know very little about the game). They do tend to have a significantly better record the second half of the season. Data suggests that at some point they put their crap together....only to break your hearts(which I am more than content with). Go Bison Go Gophers JBND7

Actually... The logical thing to do would be looking at average number of fans... None of und's sports they share with ndsu are close to averaging 100% capacity anyway... So your building argument doesn't hold water

More sports equal more people. The logical thing to do would be to look at attendance in sports the two schools both compete in.

200 miles away....not such a bad drive. I think more folks will be there this year than in years past since this is supposed to be "the" year. Sioux Falls works great with several schools relatively nearby. Probably shouldn't claim our women's athletics suck. Two of the teams suck....badly. Track is pretty good I think, and the softball team is pretty good as well. Golf just sent a girl to the LPGA which is pretty neat I suppose. At most schools, including UND too I imagine, people are happy when the women's teams are doing well, but if they aren't.....not the end of the world in comparison to men's. .......so the two big revenue sports at NDSU outdraw the Force and you are trying to smack on that?

This. Tough to compare times. Was Charlotte getting into the CUSA in '05? Probably not. Things turned into a game of musical chairs..things have gotten weird as of the past few years.

It's about getting in a market. The conference didn't have a presence in Atlanta before.... Now they do. Comparing UND or NDSU to GSU might not exactly be valid. No TV market value here to speak of.... and we are not exactly in a football recruiting hot bed. I imagine that helped their case to go FBS.
