  1. won't replay... refs are obviously doing all they can...
  2. TH just commented that the sioux have been down two men 25 times this year...
  3. I laughed the first time they did the "bel-a-rus" chant. It was at the Canada - Finland game. It wasn't as funny the next time tho...the joke was just overdone. I thought the Canadians were great fans and added alot of life to the tourney and to the building. Too bad we can't bring those black horns to the Sioux games (not the air canister ones, the real ones that you blow into manually). I'd love to have one and sound it in approval when the goalie makes a great save or the Sioux score a goal or Greene makes a big hit. But alas, I've heard they don't allow noise makers at the Sioux games. I guess everyone in Canada has one. I think it would make our players feel more at home (LOL). The reason the USA is not in the gold medal game is because only a few players apparently understand that if you're going to wait until the other team loses the puck, you're going to have to wait a long time. You have to TAKE the puck from them. Instead, I saw a complete lack of checking on both ends and it cost them control of the game. And what happened to shooting the puck and taking a rebound? WTF? They looked like the gophers, passing it around and not taking a shot. Someone here has a motto (I forget who) that goes: If you don't shoot the puck you don't score, if you don't score you don't get laid. So shoot the damn puck. I'm for the Canadians kicking Russia's sorry butts. I, for one, am raising my hand to my ear everytime Canada scores tomorrow and I hope all USA attendees do the same...We'll see how that plays on ESPN and TSN...9000 people raising their hands to their ears in unison should make the point...just as long as the Canadian players don't do it...
  4. I don't know...I think the weather had a little something to do with Thursday attendance. Those of us who made the trip from Fargo saw a very exciting game. I have told everyone that missing it would be like missing the olympics. There really is no excuse to not attend at least a few games but ?
  5. I was there tonight. It ranked right up there in terms of excitement. Pulling the goalie with 3:45 remaining was incredible. Stafford hit the pipe and passed the puck to guys who just couldn't bury it. Stafford seemed to really lift the team when he was on the ice... He got the assist, but he did everything but shoot the puck: He took it away on a backcheck, skated up ice, and made a great pass. You could see the pain in the expression on his face after the game. He really wanted it and just couldn't get it done although he and many others really picked it up during the last period. It will be tough to put it behind them, but they better get ready for Saturday. Sunday against Russia would be a great game, but I'm not sure that is right. I thought the A bracket relegation winner would have to play a cross-over game against Canada.
  6. I think you mean WHEN they play for a medal, but then Russia might have something to say about that, now that they have lost to the USA and will have to meet Canada first in the Semi's....(I think that's how it goes...anyone care to correct me...not in this crowd..LOL)..
  7. Can you get a room on priceline??? If you can, try putting in a price that is approximately 45 percent of the regular rate...you'll most likely get it...
  8. It's not that people won't come to GF, it's a matter of actually getting there...figure it out. If you can drive, great. In an international tournament alot of attendees will fly. Let's see, six or eight incoming flights per day, times two in you include Fargo...each plane holds an average of 125 (some are bigger, many are smaller)....that's 2000 people per day...if 25 percent of the projected 250,000 are from points where driving is impractical, it would take more than 30 days just to get them here... Now I know my numbers are not exact and maybe they are even a long way off, but the concept is correct. The capacity to get people here just doesn't exist. Why do you think Microsoft moved their annual rally out of Fargo...same reason and they are not dealing with even 25,000 (I could be wrong about that, but I don't think its 250,000)... Just my two cents.
  9. Looks like Bochenski and Parise will face off against each other on Wednesday night....I wonder if there is a way to see or hear a broadcast of that game... Parise is the points leader for Albany...

    Hockey

Since I go to EVERY home game and watch or listen to EVERY away game, plus nearly ALL other available games nearly EVERY weekend, I doubt that it is me you are referring to when you say "fairweather fan".... Your Quote: "I also wouldn't mind seeing the habitual penalty offenders or slackers sit a game out to remind them they're not invincible. A good player plays both sides of the ice and above all plays smart." That is not a coaching decision (or a lack thereof)? Let the stupid play and the stupid penalties continue....

    Hockey

If the kind of team "let downs" we've all witnessed this year (repeatedly allowing tieing goals less than a minute after scoring, allowing a game winner in the final seconds, etc.) continue, this team will exit the season early. This is coaching, pure and simple. This team has ten NHL draft picks. It's the coach's responsibility to make that talent into a team. If this continues, it won't be long until we are doing another "national" search for the next guy on the bench.
  12. or the Extra End in Grafton....
  13. If the Forum wanted to be accurate, they would state that conference affiliation for NDSU depends on the timing of UND's move up. But the Forum and their "editors" will never tell that story. The fact will always remain that NDSU needs UND to make the move up. Without UND, NDSU chances of gaining conference affiliation with Big Sky are not nearly as good. NDSU went off half-cocked and moved to D1 without affiliation. UND's representatives and NDSU's own consultants have said that was a mistake. I personally can not wait until UND moves up so that these two teams can play once again...nothing makes me happier than watching UND blow NDSU off the field and giving them the butt kicking the so justly deserve. I need that fix in my life.
  14. I wonder how many other policy decisions Potts has made after reviewing the Forum chat rooms for guidance. That's quite a barometer. Maybe he should be expelled. This leaves me wondering where he went to school? Seems like the whiners got their way - so much for access and progress. Pott's alternative solution must be to build a new center on the UND campus and provide student services remotely rather than utilize existing and available space to serve students locally when available (Why are my taxes so high???). Believe it or not Mr. Pott's, some people actually prefer to have a degree from UND even if NDSU is in their backyard. It should be the student's choice and the program should be allowed to succeed or fail on that basis only.

    Signs

At the last series, I didn't see many signs...Last year, the signs for this series were great...I especially remember the "You must be this tall to play this game" - Hilarious...
  16. Hey, that's my line... Don Lucia
  17. Are the games going to be on Fargo TV? Some of the games this year are being shown on Cable One channel 7 but I'm not sure about this one. Anyone know?
  18. Diggler: You might want to try to ensure that someone doesn't impersonate you and clip these tickets before you get them...it could happen...of course they'd have to bear the rath of the 'stashe and that just might be enough to deter them...
  19. Here's a good article. Hopefully the negotiations will proceed so we can get back to playing.... Commodore speaks
  20. No. John Nash is a professor of mathematics that won the Nobel Prize for Economics for his theory on how negotiators maximize results when coming to a solution. He was the subject of a book and then a movie based on the book called "A Beautiful Mind"...John Nash suffered from schitzophrenia but somehow recovered from it (which is very unusual)...
  21. Ok...there's got to be a good sign in there somewhere...how about: To go where no man has gone before - SCSU Homecoming Queen... or for penalty box: The Queen's Court... Somebody help....
  22. Congrats. I hope you can hold it longer than UND...maybe even into March...As long as you're willing to give it back April 9th...
