I've got the Deja Sioux sign in suite 247 (long story). I'm not sure how I'd get it out of there before this weekend. You might have to make another as I'm still not 100 percent sure I'm going to St. Paul. I think it would be cool to hold up that sign against any team the Sioux have swept this season - after they win, of course.

Not too bad for a 43 year old bean counter. Thanks to YaneA for the original idea that we worked on a little and also for making the sign and leaving it in my seat behind the Sioux bench. Also, tonight, you gotta hold that "You must be this tall to play this game" sign up more often. Everyone around me agreed that was the funniest one...especially when Connor or Pettis is on the ice...Pettis's head is barely above the top of the boards so just hold it about a foot or so about the boards and you've got it...

That's what gives hockey a bad name to casual observers. Going to battle for your teammate and some fighting is part of the game, but that was not fighting. I hope that Bertuzzi is suspended. It surprises me that he hasn't been charged with assault because, clearly, that was what it was. Moore should sue him for compensation (games missed, if any) and punitive damages...

Anyone else see the Mpls (Red) Star/Tribune this morning? Headline " Bulldogs end up in second place"...What would be so wrong with "Sioux Win MacNaughton Cup"... It just killed them to acknowledge that UND won it... Some WCHA roundup that was...you had to dig pretty deep to find out...then, of course, they forgot to put UND's win in the points standings - UND has 41 points, not 39... Oh well, just keep those little Gopher blinders on a while longer while you fight over fourth place with St. Cloud State and Denver...

The trumpet guy was banging his head on the plexiglass in Sec 116 where I was sitting...you could hear his forehead striking the glass. I thought "what is that guy doing and is he going to have a headache in the morning"... Fun game last night. I was standing up in 116 whenever the students on the other side stood. At first the crowd just sat, but eventually, other people started getting into it... I think they just need to see that it's ok to stand up once in a while and not just when the sioux score. Too bad about that last goal, I was hoping for a shut-out.

They'll hoist it the night they win it...and then again on Saturday night...

Anyone catch the Mpls Red Star this morning??? Total silence regarding the Gopher Men's Hockey Team, except for a single line about being swept in Denver...I guess you'd conclude that Denver is now the team to beat in the WCHA if you read the Star - huge article on them...From a Gopher perspective, Denver must be pretty good to pull off the sweep. Hell, Denver's even going to take the Golden Pan home and the last home ice position if they win this weekend...And of course Bemiji State has a veritable sleugh of Hobey candidates... Not too much about the UND, the number one team in the nation, except to say the MacNaughton trophy is now in GF so that it's available IF the Sioux win one game against that powerful team from Michigan Tech... Wearing my Devils Jersey to the Game on Friday...I'm going to cheer really loud as usual...

Great game last night, especially the last 5 minutes of regulation and the overtime. I love the Oiler's crowd you know they are totally into it, but so quiet, you can hear every pass, every edge of the skate. NJ won't make that mistake. They'll hang tough. Plus, where will I find a Capitols jersey for the Saturday March 6th game on such short notice. I'm wearing my NJ Devils jersey for that game in honor of Parise, just in case it's his last regular season game for the Sioux...Since I sit three rows behind him, I thought it'd be kinda fun to do...anyone else want to join me???

We want to go...my birthday present (on the 27th)...I need tickets. Someone point me in the right direction. If we can't find tickets, we still want to go to Duluth but we'll need a Sioux-friendly bar to watch the game and party afterward...Let's get it together...Can we take over Grandma's???

I think the Goph's PP is hurting now because G. Potulny is out. He will be back soon (a couple weeks). He has scored quite a few PP goals for them.

This weekend will be the watershed series for UND...the team either has the moxie to stand up and take its game to its opponent or it doesn't. There will be no room for losing to this team...UND is either a legitimate contender and top-ranked team or it is not... I say it's time for UND to show they are THE team in the WCHA by bringing the A-game to bear every night from now until the NCAA Championship Game. Mental slips are no longer acceptable. No more "rays of hope" for the other, weaker teams. No more projecting a "beatable" image. UND must project its dominance and overwhelm its opponents with superior talent. It's time to slam the door. Let's Go Sioux!!!!
