  1. What a loser....Bad mouthing a sport because you can't participate. You'd be a Division II school playing Division 1 hockey (or at least making an attempt) had the City of Fargo voted to build you a@@holes a rink (and what a "rink" it would have been - LOL)...and UND would be whipping your butts in hockey as well as every other sport. You are really pathetic... And by the way, while everyone from the Bison camp, including the Forum, blames UND for ending the rivalry, these people need to be reminded that it was NDSU that ended the rivalry when it switched Divisions. Good luck to you as you take on your new opponents. Your next ten seasons will bring all of us UND supporters much joy and good humor...
  2. I knew I liked you NorthDakotaSioux
  3. Last year's team was a shadow of this year's team...they were not a good team last year. Many feel they were ranked #1 because of a front-weighted and light home schedule. When they finally hit the road, reality came around. They lost to WI last year at home on Saturday (as I recall)... Even so, I'll never forget the back to back OT victories on Saturday and then Sunday against Denver in the play-in games last season...I've never seen a more thrilling five minutes of hockey in my life - I'll bet that's how the WI fans felt tonight... Anyway, they started this season #6 and it was pretty obvious early on that this team was for real...this is a different team, very different. And much better.
  4. I think that's what I said...you'll see a different team tomorrow night. I guarantee it...
  5. You are absolutely right...my point remains unchanged...
  6. Watched it on TV in Fargo...Cable One Digital Channel 308 FSN Pacific...wish I would have missed it...a VERY uncharacteristic performance by a #1 ranked team. The team is in a mini-funk. I'm not worried, tho - these guys are too good to have a long-term let down. The past few weekends have been huge tests for them. To win Saturday night in MN would have required beating MN six straight and a sweep at Mariucci - something they have NEVER done. To win last Saturday would have required beating Denver six straight and three straight overtime games. To sweep this weekend would have required winning six straight...let's be realistic. Tomorrow's another day. Anybody in hockey 19-0-0 I'll take the home ice for the playoffs at the Ralph anytime (and yes, I have my tickets).
  7. That was my freshman year at UND...I went to nearly every home game...The hockey was fantastic...I've gone to nearly every home game this season - I sit three rows behind the sioux bench - and I have much more appreciation for the level of play now than I did back then. I guess I didn't realize how really good those teams were back then. It was more of a party thing back then - something I did plenty of that first year...
  8. The first time I really watched Porter play was I think Nov. 7th against MN (it could have been a game or two earlier) ...I was not very impressed - He seemed a stride behind and made a number of bad decisions... Since then, he has proven that my initial impression was incorrect over and over again. He is physical. He has a good sense of how a sequence will evolve on the ice and, therefore, is around the puck and in the play - much like ZP (who is involved in almost everything that occurs during his shifts). I am a big supporter Porter. He has improved noticeably over the season - wait 'til he has another year or so under his skates... Oh yeah, how about BB's goal on Friday. What a quick shot. The poor goalie admitted that he didn't even see the puck. I was in a bar in Mpls and I wasn't sure I was going to make it to my car....LOL...
  9. Any chance the game will be aired later this evening so we can see the action???ESPN2 or someother deal??
  10. Both are Grafton projects ...It's been a while for Grafton players, but Mahulka and Schwartz (excuse my spelling, its been a while) played for the Sioux in the mid-70's...Mahulka was a big, powerful defenseman - I remember him just about knocking out one of the Bye's from Devils Lake at a home game... Schwartz came back to Grafton to coach that team for a few years. I'm not sure if he's the coach now, but I think he coached both Sando and Lindenberg.
  11. Yeah, we all know what happens when you look at past performances to determine future results...there is nothing more meaningless than looking at final scores to determine relative strength...North Alabama looked like a scoring machine on paper... Both teams have the talent to win...who brings the intensity it takes to play error-free football on game day is what matters.
