Speaking of which, has Goon mentioned where (or if) Bobby is playing hockey now?
@burd Bobby is playing with the Flyers, however, he's been in Tort's doghouse, playing about 10 minutes a game on the fourth line. He had a short stint with Lehigh Valley where he ended up being the player of the week. I got to see him play in Winnipeg back in January when the Flyers played the Jets.

is there any chance Hedquist is #1 and Johnson is #2? I know Johnson is supposed to just be a third string guy but is there a chance he moves up and they back fill with a new 3rd string guy?
Johnson isn't going to be the second-string goalie. I bet they bring in a Recruit or Portal. I remember Schloss saying on the podcast the Heil is a few years away.

If Miami left would Western want to go as well?
The former SID told me of WMU men's hockey and that their school was committed to being in the NCHC. This was after the whispering about Miami being unhappy about the travel costs in the NCHC.

Someone has to finish last, and they are the UAA of the NCHC.
6-3-1 OOC and 1-21-2 in conference.
Isn't it 2 million now?
I was originally told 1.5 million, and then I was told between 1.5 and 2 million (IRC, it was from someone at UND, then I read it somewhere online when they were talking about Miami wanting out of the league). I've been told three or four times that 1.5 million is the exit fee. Whatever it is, Miami has no bargaining chips. According to Schloss, it's in excess of $1 million.
According to multiple sources, Miami did not make a push to leave the league at the annual meetings in Florida in April. The league's exit fee is one year of operating expenses, which usually is in excess of $1 million.

Is it time to let Miami walk away from the conference? I had this discussion with @Wilbur last night. I’m now in the “yes” camp.
I am for it, too. When they pay the 1.5 million, they can walk.

Coach Brad Berry on Ludvig Persson's condition.
"We're not going to divulge very much information because it's the playoffs," Berry said. "As the week progresses, we'll share more information, but right now, it's undisclosed."

@Goon what are your sources telling you the reason Ludvig didn't play this series?
Berry was asked in the post-game and wouldn't say. If you look at this picture, Ludvig Persson is in his stall in street clothes.
I am thinking injury. If he's sick, you don't want him in the locker room? Berry also said that Blake was fighting an illness. Schloss said that Ludy practiced on Friday.

Apparently, @MafiaMan and I correctly predicted the final score tonight.

Anything less than a two-game sweep is unacceptable.

I keep hearing from Miami fans that they don’t have the money, so we’ll see if they buyout the last year.
Anyone find that puzzling? Miami and Western are MAC schools and are the two biggest schools in the conference. However, they Have the worst NCHC.TV broadcasts and seem to be the ones complaining about money.

I'm looking for a convincing sweep on home ice for the Sioux. Anything else is...? Goon?
That’s still the message. Anything less than a sweep is unacceptable. Get it done.

He predicted a 3-2 Omaha win in game one.
He also predicted a 4-1 UND win in game two. Let’s hope he’s right yet again. If he predicts the series correctly, we might want to drink what he's drinking.

I’m just curious why some say the players played so bad last night and why that might happen, I know you can’t be at the top of your game every night.
I think some matchups are just tougher to play against sort of like CC.
seems like Brad S had a pretty good handle on what would happen last night.
Earlier today, Schloss tweeted that UND is 2-4 in games following Penrose Clinching games.

We are a group on the cliff. It's okay everyone....
Mark my words. Omaha won't win on the road to get to the X. They are likely at CC, won't happen. They'll slumber at 15 or 16 and then an upset and they are out. Best case for Omaha would be getting Denver and beating them at Magness....ha....ha....hahaha.... we know how things get officiated at Magness.
We will be in Sioux Falls. I'd put @Oxbow6's season tickets on it.
Hey @Wilbur, you're not supposed to bring positivity to this group. I feel the same way. To the Mavericks, this weekend's games are their superbowl.

On Friday, the University of North Dakota hockey team appeared to suffer from the Penrose Cup hangover. UND came out a step slow and chased the game for 50 minutes. The Hawks didn't play badly; Omaha just played better.

I am not a big fan of him, either. He wears out his welcome fast. The Flyers captain is in the doghouse right now. He is playing in the National, so, it is what it is.
