At the beginning of the season I predicted a 4-8 season. I plan on eating my words. I believe after watching the first 4 games, they're ceiling is higher than that. They're not elite, but they're not bad either. I've had fun watching this team. There are a lot of young players on this team. A win is a win. I think they will have to take it up a notch if they want to have a chance against the three Dakota schools.

Apparently, you didn't get the memo, we need to be negative. No positive thoughts. In all seriousness, I had a hell of a good time watching this game, it didn't hurt that I had a few beers. Who cares if we only won by 17 points. The run sets up the pass. The Hawks took over in the second half and wore down the opposition. It might not be pretty, but they were affective. Reading Schloss's article, a few things stuck out for me. I kind of like this game plan, it won't change until Bubba is gone. He like to run first and pass second.

Maybe there is an argument for parity in college football on the FCS level.

Not really no. I think if anything, UND should be promoting the hell out of the football team. They should be all over the new facilities for football. The Hawks have seven home games this year. That's a pretty big deal.

Yeah, that's a good point. Why hasn't UND played the Ugly Helmets in a two-games series since the 1980's. I know @MafiaMan is a big-time Michigan fan and would probably travel to Ann Harbor, Michigan to see a series.

If you listen to the UND hockey podcast, Schloss mentioned that some of these kids take their time committing. Last season, UND had a few commits after the early junior year signing period.

I think @nodakvindy has a good point, are there many of us that would watch a CCHA game? Unless our favorite team is playing there. With NCHC deal and NHL hockey on ESPN+ and Bally Sports North, I don't have time to watch their teams. Just wondering out of curiosity.

Ture, but it happens more today, than it did during our days (we're old ) It was looked down upon. I remember when Lindros told Quebec he didn't want to play for them. He ended up being traded to Philly.

In today's world, you can now just say, "I don't want to play for your team", and then you ask for a trade. I remember a time when this was frowned upon.

I've heard the song was about Big George. IRC, Tim Oshie also had said that on Facebook.

I played football with George at Bemidji High School. Big George could've played Division I football, Baseball, and Hockey. He was one hell of a guy; everyone liked him. He'd take it easy on his teammates in practice. When he'd blitz, no one from the opposition could stop him on the line or in the backfield. I remember hearing about his death while I was stationed in Germany. It was a huge shock. The Hockey News covered his funeral. I can't imagine what he could've become as a player.

Anyone know if UND is in on this kid? He had a Force Teammate who is an UND recruit.
