Spot on. I haven't had a lot of contact with their fans since we split and went our seperate ways. There were a few of them in the stands last year during the UND vs. NDSU basketball game. Now we're in the Summit and soon the MVFC I am sure we'll see more of them.

Just using basic math, UND sends 7,000 fans to a hockey game, there's a chance one or two of these folks is going to get into it with some snowflake/hypersensitve Gopher fan. Add alcohol, means the chances increase. With some fans, it’s like throwing gas on an open fire, but no one wants to be lectured by some poindexter when they've been drinking. I am sure that none of the Gopher fans acted like pompous jerks either. No one fan base owns the monopoly on horrible fans. Each fan base has their share of morons. One thing nice about being in the NCHC is we don’t to listen to endless lectures from Gopher fans 2-5 times a season. You know, you only win because of the 25-year-old Canadians. The tired old UND is a bunch of goons. Yada, yada, yada. Finally, 8 > 5.

I've found over the years that all fan bases have about 5-10 percent of their fan base that ruin it for the whole bunch. However, I have found that Clown fans and Gopher fans are the worst. For the most part, Wisconsin fans are fun to drink with.

Wow. Some of the comments are clueless. I Was surprised that Timm "Quick Whistle" Walsh was allowed to officate this game, but the Gophers played a very undiciplined game. I thought that UND outplayed the Gophers for most of the game and that their goalie kept them in the game.

I noticed that during the Montana game the student section was lacking in fans sitting in the stands. If the students don't want to attend sell those seats to folks that want to sit there.

I remember some moronic buffoon from the the Minnesota fan base that confronted me in the bathroom after Holy Cross had beaten the Gophers in the 2007 west regional and this moron says, "We would've won." I said Skippy, "It doesn't matter, your team is already on the bus headed down I-29."
