Don't forget that Ducktober and UND hockey season are only about 41/2 to 5 months off too.

As an Alumni, I think Cup Cake is an empty suit. I also believe that Cup Cakes , usefulness to UND has come to an end. Really think the UND alumni should think hard about this man and what he has done to this great university. On his resume It should say: During my tenure UND I almost single handedly destroyed/screwed up UND. During my watch UND has lost many a great UND professors. During my watch the price of tuition has gone up twice in the past two years. During my tenure I almost caused UND to lose a 100 million dollar gift due to my stupidity. I actually almost caused UND to not get the new REA. This is due to his great idea that some how he had to the power to change the UND fighting Sioux name. Chuck almost bowed to the pressure of a no power weilding small interest group. I still don't to this day know how one who is suppose to be this smart jeordizes losing a 100 million dollar gift to please 25-100 people on campus. It is not smart economics. Thankfully Ralph Called him on it. The main defining moment of his tenure is really how this dimwit liberal professor flirted with the Idea of changing the UND Fighting Sioux name. I was once told that if Cup Cake had actually gone throught and changed the Figthing Sioux name his head would have rolled so fast it wouldnt have been funny. Apparently there was a prominant alumni from the Bismarch area that would have gotten the ball moving. Now we have a chance to get rid of him. I say great, this is an awesome opportunity.

Why would Buffalo want him to sign now. In my HMO he isn't even close to playing in the NHL.

Thats the kind of goals UND needs. In close crash the net. The kid will probably gladly fill that role. Lee Goren was like that too.

I have a feeling some of these kids won't be here long either if tradition of getting the best players seems to keep playing out. I really don't mind Fabian gutting out a few 10-15 ugly goals a season. A goal is a goal and the kid impressed me with his effort this past season.

You know I am getting sick and tired of watching these kids leave early. I remember when the older Lundbohm left early and look where it got him. Oh, well thats what happens when your a top program. Oh course there are many kids that will take their place.

Radkey wears 26, so unless you know something I don't, which is possible, I say they will have to pick new numbers.

Why would Ferris leave the CCHA for CHA? Could anyone even give us a reason why that is an attractive option? I suppose they would be the auto bid every season?

The truth is no one wants to be in the CHA. I can see the CHA going away and the other league's strong armed into absorbing the 5 remaining teams, probably the ACHA. I mean really why would you join the CHA, so you can play Wayne, Niagra, RMU, and UAH in hockey. None of those teams are a big draw.

The SCCC player blasted our goalie and the refs failed to make the correct call. This should not have been a goal and should have resulted in a penalty. I was ready to bull rush the ice after that botched call.

I just think UND is rushing the kid. Besides we have more than enough talent to finish year with, without rushing a kid up to the WCHA. Its not like he played for Shattacks were they play 80 games against tougher competition...

I am sure he will make former olympic diver Greg Lugainus (sp) proud.

I am sure the UND already has the equipment in line already, since I am sure it was built with the Arena.

It won't be, because WCHA refs think they need to let the skilled players get mugged, slashed, clutch and grabbed because they think they have to keep the close and even, and not ever team has players like a Parise so those team need to expect to get mugged. The refs don't want to call to many penalties to give any team except UND a disavantage, the refs hate us for some reason. Hence, the refs seem to have a woody for UND and will call them as many penalties as possible, maybe its because UND like to us tree trunk for defensemen and the only way to win against UND is to put us one and two men down. However, teams like UofMN do seem to get the sweet heart deals as far as how the refs respond to them.

I would wager that Stafford will be back.

Dagies I think your right, last season, the opposition mugged, cluthed and grabbed Brady Murray up and down the ice. I don't see it changing for another skilled player such as Kessel.

I think that UND will get its licks in on Kessel. Its only illegal if you get called for it.

I just hope we are not rushing him. A year in Jrs. could do him some good.

Whatever, it doesn't matter right now, it maters later on after the players actually have played I think hockey is almost as big of a crap shoot as football and we won't find out till about if any of these players are a bust or not. I think honestly a Kessel is = to a Toews. Because if some have refered to him ast the next Sidney Crosby, I would rather have a Crosby then a Kessel. If you guys remember from the watching the WJC Kessel doesn't play well when the opposition takes the body on him. I predict Mr Prpich will be meeting the Young Kessel on the ice a lot when the two teams meet. Prpich held Vanek scoreless for the weekend his last trip to the REA two years ago, let me say Thomas took a few cross checks and whacks (whatever it takes to win in my book). I also hope he will be pounding him with check every change he gets. Get in his head and his hockey pants (Not literally but check him and play him close to the vest, it was once said that Steve Kasper was in Wayne Gretzky's breezers when their two teams played each other) and make him not want to be on the ice.

I suppose he will go on to be the top player in the CHA and will probably some where along the way be a top player.

Thats fine, basically Ty Domi basicallys said in so many words in the paper last week if the two knuckle heads can't get an agreement the players will fire their reps and find someone else that can get the agreement done. The players want to go to work.

You know what I agree you. Rummy isn't the only one that needs to take blame there are a whole bunch of our leaders that need to stand up and say we have cut our miltary enough. Although a big GOPer I was all for Rummy being thrown out on his ear after W's first term. Its started even before him too. I have other issues that tie into this. We can't defend our country with a downsized military. Its a larger picture. I guess the Govenator has been in Washington lobbying so he can keep all 25 of California's military bases. I thinks its only fair that we keep our our two main bases. The bases of our state mean a lot that we will only realize after we have cut them if they are on the block. I don't however, buy the argument that Fargo has to keep the Holigans and that they can't be moved to GFAB. That is arrogant and pompus. The GFAB is perfect for them to practice their Combat air tactics. Also, whatever happend to the unmaned airplane plans that someone had brought up ealier last year?

Thats the question how much does our leaders want to cut our defense, I really don't see how we can cut it much more without putting our nations defenses in jepordy. I read in an article a while back that said the towns in Germany that we used to have troops in now, have hardly if any troops in them leaving a huge gaping how in their economy and their economic health. Some of these towns haven't recovered from our leaving. Seems the German people hated having our soldiers and airmen but liked having our money. Time will only tell what happens to GFAB, I know I like having them there. Military Bases and the defense industry is a hugh money makers. That being said I am sick and tired of us government cutting the Military and bases. The problem being is that get into a war, another country spouts off ala, Iran and Korea and we don't have enough troops to fight more than one battle. It appears that Rummy and his philosophy of a leaner smaller army has some serious flaws in it.
