  1. I saw on a Wisconsin board that they refer to us as LGM. What does that stand for?
  2. It didn't need to be fixed, this thread is about the new terf and facilities. But, I'm all for UND being competitve.
  3. I could care less if UND is playing in the FBS or FCS, as long as they're doing it in a new football stadium worthy of building a tradition around.
  4. Sorry brother, I refuse to think small. If we're going to do it, let's do it right the first time around and do it big. Let's construct a facility we can build a program and a tradition around! I'm aware of past attendance records and could absolutely care less about what UND did back in the D2 and D1 transition days, the future is looking bright and it's going to take students, alumni, and fans with the right attitude to help make it happen (a winning team doesn't hurt either). I refuse to accept that UND will be a lack luster team that 10,000 or more people in the region support, I honestly believe in the potential of this institution and know that great things are in the pipeline!
  5. Northern Texas just built "Mean Green Stadium" for $78 million and it holds over 30,000 and it is very nice. FAU has a nice new stadium that holds 30,000 with the ability to expand to over 65,000 and they built it for $62 million.
  6. I wonder why an outdoor "horse shoe" stadium would cost $250 to build? I would have thought it would have been around the $90 million mark.
  7. No the renderings I saw were much older than this and included both an outdoor "horse shoe" field and a dome with a retractable roof.
  8. I've actually seen conceptual renderings of a horse shoe stadium that would incorporate the existing memorial stadium that seats around 25,000-30,000, but I'm sure that would be more in the $70-$90 million price range. I would love to see an outdoor field but they would have to construct some sort of heating system to keep people coming during winter months.
  9. Does anybody know if there has been any talk by the city to keep UND football there for the long haul? Can the Alerus be renovated in a way that it can grow to meet UND's needs? Or would it have to be torn down (stadium part) and built from the ground up? Just curious what the options are on the table.
  10. The definition is cool and definitely unique but it just doesn't roll of the tip of your tongue. How about the Blaze or Blazers?
  11. I wonder how much start up capitol UND would need to start building a new stadium on campus? It sounds like they might be exploring that option sooner than everyone thinks. Also, what is the average lifespan of turf?
  12. How about the "Statesmen"? Still NOWHERE as cool as the Fighting Sioux.
  13. I'm not convinced they don't have HD cameras at the Ralph. The game footage on the scoreboard looks to be in high def, much higher quality than what's being broadcasted on tv.
  14. I agree, UND was represented very well in this commercial! We have a fairly large fan base given the size of the state and the media market we reside in. Does anyone know if this channel supports HD?
  15. I agree, I would totally be in favor of dropping baseball for a sport like lacrosse.
  16. That's pushing it, the majority of hockey jerseys have stripes on them not sure that the Gophers started that trend.
  17. I had heard that we had the interlocking ND before Notre Dame but I can't seem to find any evidence of it. The interlocking ND is most closely associated with the Irish and we deserve something original and unique to our institution. Let's be honest, this jersey design is no where close to being as nice as the design it's replacing. I would rather have seen just "North Dakota" on the jersey.
  18. These ugly jerseys make me want to sign petition . So not only do we have to share an interlocking ND with Notre Dame we're also ripping off the Minnesota Wild jersey design. Send these clowns back to the drawing board!
  19. I would guess it is much , much higher than 25,000 per game. I've seen more people than that packing into bars and restaurants in Grand Forks to watch a Sioux home game.
  20. Middle Tennessee State University just bought a state of the art new HD production truck with HD cameras, production equipment and satellite uplinks for under $2 million early last year. There is no reason UND couldn't afford to invest in a similar endeavor so PEOPLE LIKE ME can enjoy our favorite past time in HD. This is a smart investment for the university.
  21. Does anybody know what the current ratings for UND hockey is? There has to be quite a few people watching, we get the home games here in Nashville and I know we have quite a few alumni and fans watching in the Arizona, Colorado, and Minnesota markets, not to mention Manitoba.
  22. WDAZ won't spring for a penalty clock let alone HD cameras. Would be nice though!
  23. Lets go Sioux!!! Time to lay a beating on some nerds!
  24. Sloppy turnovers After watching this game I'm starting to hate Canadiens
  25. I'm hoping that a Big Sky schedule will help remedy the attendance problem, but when considering a possible scenario where we are not allowed to join the BSC you can't help but wonder what will UND's options be?
