I think when it came out Rog had applied for the NCC job - it was almost a done deal from the get-go he would get it. That's why UND has expressed such a short timeline for getting a new AD in place (April 1st?) Truly interested applicants would have had a "heads up" to get ready to apply and they will...and as Phil H has said, "either you know you're a fit for UND or you're not" IE - The "list" will be pretty short...

GOD FORBID you should ever admit a mistake but you guys DO HAVE the right to challenge why your esteemed president decided to sacrifice EVERY other sport for the sake of competing on a "higher level" to help the FOOTBALL team make a name for itself on a MARGINALLY higher level. di-aa is better than D2 but face it....the BIG BOYS (DI-A) don't care much more about a great di-aa team than a great DII team...ask 20 people on the street who won last years di-aa championship and see what you get. The sad thing is NDSU BB might make the "BIG SHOW" one time in the next 20 years (and probably be one and done) Amy has a better shot in the womens field but, hey, who gives a crap about WBB anyway....Bucky will do okay (probably the best of any NDSU sport in REAL d-one - but I defer to my last arguement, who cares about wrestling!) That's the saddest thing about ndsu's move...they've eliminated the golden ring from almost all of ndsu's athletic programs...very sad in my opinion!

AGREE!!!! who the hell cares if the BI-son women are leading any "independent" category - bottom line is they are years away from EVER qualifying from any REAL playoffs of any kind...My advice is follow a team that has some PROSPECTS of competing for a NCAA championship this year - UND!!

hey...VERY FEW teams could have beat USD on Saturday - they played awesome! Mueller was his usual JERK self but scored...Trofholz dominated the middle and that geek from Dakota Wesleyan obviously ate his wheaties that morning. UND expended so much energy fighting back from the early deficit - they didn't have anything left in the tank after they tied it at 50-50. The sweep of UNO was HUGE...we'll have another crack at the 'yotes....thursdays game againt the Mav's is REALLY big. A win there and we'll be 3 of 4 against the best teams in the league...

I agree they should play all the games at the Betty...if it's SRO (for over 4000 I guess) WHO CARES!! THAT would be awesome!!! The atmosphere at the Ralph this weekend SUCKED! The Zooperstars got the biggest rise out of the crowd and that was the HALFTIME ENTERTAINMENT!! (same on Sat. Night!) I swear to god you could hear individual COUGHS in the crowd during both games!! ADD to that all the old people are obviously PISSED about having to pay $3 for a coke! NOW HERE'S THE REAL PROBLEM...UND will be televising several games this season (starting this thursday) The Ralph is wired for TV - the Betty is not and that's probably the driving force for playing the conference games in the Ralph. It's a great arena...but not for basketball (Unless Kansas decides to come back to town???)

can I ask what Sioux teams you've been watching in the past??? NOT CHIPPY??? (Mike Commodore?) Didn't take cheap shots?? (Jim Archibald?) Fast and Exciting Hockey? (see U of M Gophers - for better or worse) The Sioux have done what they've done (7 NC's - not bad ) with what they've had...any new coach is a transitional period. If anything...I'd say a lack of senior (or even veteran) leadership is what's dragging down UND this year...Dane Litke was a HUGE factor in helping the "average" Sioux win a National Title in '97...Anyone remember this?? Where is that leadership now? Maybe that's the question we need to ask??

The old cheap theatre was bought out by Happy Hal to become the Empire Arts Center -- not from lack of support. (who doesn't want to go to movie for a buck?). Columbia Mall 4 will become the new cheap theatre...Carmike 10 will have to survive against the new competition and we won't know about the Alerus-Canad-Waterpark-Theatre Complex until it's built. TRUE - the strong will survive and the weak will become ANOTHER starbucks (like apparently the old Beary Best Pastry location on S. Wash) BISONGUY -- You guys have a lot more to explain with that new WEIRD totally FLUFF CONTENT Bison BB show than we have to with our theatre situation...kind of quiet on BRAZENVILLE.COM or what??

All of us Sioux fans are really spoiled. Unless we have a NC contender EVERY single year - people bitch! GEEZ...chill out!! We lost two top returners and our head coach. The new coach comes in and, with the loss of veteran talent, the team is only average this year - cut 'em a break! Remember Blais' first year coming in with only "average" talent? His goal was just to break .500 and maybe get home ice for the playoffs. Dean was a great coach but realistically - he should have had at least 4 NC's with the talent he had during his tenure. His "great" teams fell flat (The Jason Blake Years) and he actually won his 2 titles with overachieving guys who managed to pull together as a team and do more than anyone expected of them. Back off Hak and give him a chance! I don't think Sandelin would have done any better and frankly - with his overall performance at Duluth since he's been there (one good season doesn't make a great coach) PLUS his frankly crappy job with the US World Jr. Team makes Hak look better all the time.

lurking around the Ralph early tuesday (before the bronze medal game) when a friend received a call "notifying the media" there would be a "protest" before the World Jr. medal games sponsored by the PC group from St. Cloud that always protests before UND games there. It was also announced they would be joined by "some" members of the UND BRIDGES Group. (They were literally begging for media coverage - I guess they forgot 25 games had already been played in the WJ's but whatever) Anyway - they never showed up where they were "supposed" to be and didn't get any (GOOD) media coverage. My question was...what business is it of St. Cloud PC'ers what's going on in GF in an event that doesn't directly involve the Fighting Sioux. Take your nose and stick it where it belongs...up you *ss!
