great...build it and they will come...maybe a USHL franchise would make a splash for a year or two in a new arena (god knows the Coliseum killed the FM Bears and Ice Sharks) -- I don't think proponents should push the plan based on jr. hockey coming to Fargo though...it's kind of a stretch...plus they don't have the greatest track record supporting hockey of any kind. It's no mystery why NDSU is keeping their hands off this one...they don't want the stink that killed the last arena of "fargo taxpayers paying for an NDSU arena" - they're not going DI anyway...too busy playing with themselves in other "big" sports...

well...look at it this way...they're averaging about 100 fans per scholarship (given UND had half the crowd at their nice but HALF a new stadium last year) That means UND is averaging almost 300 fans per scholarship for their home games...that's not too bad!

I agree it was better news for DII football than the GLIAC in general (after all - we made Ferris, MTU and okay, I'll say it...GVSU our biatches last season - even with all those NFL Prospects!) Back off the monster...and for gods sake don't hook up your jumper cables to those bolts....that's all I gotta say!!

Cities of a half million would KILL for the kind of facilities we have - we need to find a way to make them all work in a town of 50,000....not easy

Carney did have a good spring and hell yeah, that's why LeeG moved back to receier. He would have been no better than the #4 QB. - prospects were a lot better at WR. ..so who's goinng to tailgate? I'll be wandering looking for free brats and BEERS before the game Donars gladly accepted...

Talked to Dale this week and he said Lee's move was a "mutual decision" based on the availability of playing time at WR and lack of the same at QB. Apparently, Shad Carney has made some "big strides" this season and Lee would have probably been 4th on the DC at best. One point Lennon did make was, if the Sioux ever got in a real pinch - he'd be a nice "insurance" policy in case worse came to worst... BTW - Belmore is, again quoting, looking "very good" in spring ball and Weston "built like a brick shithouse and I dare you to take a s&!t on me!" Dressler has had a very good spring. (Although that might be TOO LONG for a real nickname) Amazing what your FIRST spring practices will do for you after getting thrown in as a true freshman. This guy will be someone to watch....
