  1. ps...NDSUcks!
  2. I BEG TO DIFFER Timbonator!!! (with all due respect to Sicatoka!) I'm the biggest anti-bison jerk here and I'm proud of it!!
  3. I think the concern was a north/south configuration favors eastern ND teams...in the current way - the west is guarenteed 4 teams, regardless of how strong the east is. In any normal year - 5 east teams would be almost guarenteed a slot. (Central, RR, South, North, and GPR) PLUS you'd have to shift the conference schedule so Central would play Minot twice, etc so they'd play the Fargo schools less and that would suck. I'd be against that move... BTW - Anyone remember Jamestown? they used to be in the west and made State almost every year - several years ago they got shifted to the east region and haven't gotten a sniff of the state tourney since...
  4. Yes it is because of the NDHS tourney...they're playing the consolation championship at 11 -- break for the Sioux game at 3 then the state championship at 7'ish or so....the REA cleanup crew will be busy and unable to attend to (justified!) bitching about dataflix...sorry...
  5. 3 road games left - plus probably at least 2 in the conference tourney then hopefully at least two more in the regional - that's 7 games before the elite 8 and about 120 points to go after saturday night. (less than an average of 20 a game) She's got a great shot. What an accomplishment that would be!!
  6. you're probably right about that...well...I think we've officially beat this topic into a bloody shapeless pulp...how's the weather down there?
  7. EXCELLENT OBSERVATION!!! now I know why you are METRO and we're RUBES!! You are so much smarter than us!!!!
  8. LIKE YOU TOO SMOOCH!!!
  9. HERE'S THE REAL DEAL...we're ALL located in a rural state....Margo/Forehead isn't any more of a METRO AREA in the REAL WORLD than Cedar Falls/Cedar Rapids...some people have to quit thinking of themselves as the TWIN CITIES of nd because ABSOLUTELY no one considers them that...they're just the place from the funny movie where some guys SPLATTERED another guy in a wood chipper...but if you listen to "SOME" - any pub is GOOD PUB!!! if that's the case...so be it but I'll NEVER believe UND Hockey takes a back seat to ndsu football in the opinion of ND sports fans!! If it does...they don't have very good memories because UND won it's last national DIVISION ONE CHAMPIONSHP in 2000....you have to go a hell of of a lot farther back than that to find ndsu's last DII title in football....and as they've pointed out RECENTLY...D2 is a girls division and it doesn't mean crap anyway so I assume they include THEIR last "championship" in that "named by them - WORTHLESS" category!!! BTW! - I really like bison fans and don't mean this post in any NEGATIVE form or fashion that could possibly be construed in a "less than positive" way by the most generous and forgiving Administrator of this forum.
  10. Just curious...(In a MOST FRIENDLY, NON CONFRONTATIONAL mode Jim!) how NDSU is doing in title IX compliance? You will have added 27 full scholly's in FB since you bailed D2...just curious what womens scholarships you've added to equal everything out?
  11. you have to hit "reply"...then type a message. Just trying to be helpful
  12. whew just goes to show you...you hire Pat Behrns...you 'gonna disappear!! (maybe we should be checking the red river for a skeleton with cement overshoes)
  13. well...we're happy being ourselves...only one city in ND seems to be a big "wanna be" METRO area! Go for it! BTW - you've got a LONG way to go
  14. as Jerome actually said!...."Let the marbles fall where they may...."
  15. Big game for the Sioux at St. Cloud on thursday - a win would be a great antidote for the bitter loss to Augie. It's halfway through the conference season but it's almost 'put up or shut up' time for the Sioux...
  16. Thanks for the info. I had never heard his name before among UND assistants.
  17. The point of this forum is that YES - DI conferences DO pursue DII schools based entirely on a principle that was largely ignored when the Ag college made the leap - GEOGRAPHY!! It seemed pretty obvious to me...if you're close to a DI conference that's looking to expand - GO FOR IT!! If that distance exceeds 500 miles and includes a poorly financed "partner/anchor" like SDSU - YOU MIGHT WANT TO HOLD ON FOR A BIT!! NDSU assumed the Big Sky would trip all over themselves to bring them in....WAH WAH!! WRONG!! Now the Bison have made their bed - let them lay in it!! UND has a different situation with an established and extremely successful DI Mens Hockey program that has only recently had a Title IX anchor attached to it called Womens Hockey. They'll be okay in the long run once they get up to their full quota of scholarships and get rollling but in the interim - WH is a big money loser and financial drain on athletics. THIS WAS NOT THE TIME for UND to move up ALL it's programs - end of story!!! Quit bitching because we couldn't help you land the Big Sky!
  18. Well...they were in Fargo first and they "boasted" about it so I guess you answered your own question SEI is a great addition to GF (average starting salaries are $13-$15 from what I understand - hopefully they'll take over the entire old Bank Building downtown before long. BTW - what they do is more tech support, not a call center. Incoming calls only...no outgoing sales calls (*) (*)-I was tempted to type YOU MORON but I promised the monster I would stop snapping on MORONS from the Ag college for a month and I'm trying to keep that promise How'm I doin' monster??
  19. Doing my usual weekly cruise for Fighting Sioux stuff on Ebay and bumped into this- Gino glass on ebay I was at UND during the late '80s/early 90s just missing the great Gino years. What are some good Gino stories?? All I remember is Dark Stars poem/song about Gino and his Italian Loafers before a gopher series - there must be some good ones out there? PS - I see the assistants on the '80 championship team were Rick Wilson and Jim Nelson. We know Wilson went on the the NHL coaching ranks but whatever happened to Jim Nelson?
  20. I think tonight...more than any other...was a BIG shot for back-shelved members of the team to shine...(Fylling, Massen, Canady...et al) Let's face it!! Greene and Fuher were out for team or conference infractions...Murray is hurt...a couple others (Kaip et al) are also dinged up. I think this says - in a big way - we don't have "IT" this year. NOT A CRIME!!!! Every program has a few down years.....I'm not pushing for jail time...just time to clean house and get players who'll EXCEED expectations instead of trying to conform to them....there IS a difference!!
