  1. well...guess we all know Bison Fans are very good at REPETIVE MOTIONS!! --pressing the same keys for an unrestricted meaningless on-line poll... --AND finding their OWN DATES for a lonely friday night in the "METRO"...
  2. and YES you can vote multiple times...must be how the ag college is doing it...they're VERY GOOD at repetitive motions!! (that's about all they have to DO these days and lord knows they've had a LOT of practice! )
  3. Get ON IT people!! obviously the losers at WEINERVILLE have been working on this for months a couple examples.... v. SDSU the "best rivalry"? GIMME A BREAK!! They've had a "rivalry" for all of one year....WOW...that's tradition...as soon as I see the first dead Jackrabbit hit the turf at the 'barn - I might change my mind Best venue to watch a game? The FARGOBARN? Yeah, if you want to shoot a cannon and not hit anyone... (plus their videoboards and game production SUCK compared to the Alerus - always have (since they scrambled to add them after the Al came on line) and always will (the 3D spinning bison only goes so far compared to SACK CITY!) NOTE to voters....come to a Sioux/Gopher game at the Ralph and you'll understand what ATMOSPHERE is all about!!!
  4. Can't believe no one has mentioned the early 90's UND/NDSU game where Mike Mooney ripped the ball out of Jason Millers hands and returned it for the game clinching TD to end the ag college's long winning streak. The fans stormed the field and took down the goalpost and carried it off - bits and pieces ended up on a couple frat lawns as I remember... Whatever happened to Mooney? I don't think he's been back since? That guy was pretty intense on the field...
  5. we'll see how it goes my friend...we'll see OKAY! Come november...i'll be lighting the charcoal for the L&M brats!! (i did that last time but you guys had already booked into a rented ballroom in the Al!) - SIGH!!!!
  6. sshhhsshhh! I detect a SLIGHT note of sarcasm here...GET A LIFE!!
  7. I don't think a final of 52-29 qualifies as "HANGING ON" to win when you were leading 39-0 and went on to win by the final score....it was an ass-kicking (for the first time in a while:-) Way to go ND!
  8. I think the Ralph had more than 50 copies...i saw a 1 guy walking out with about 30 copies in his hands and there were plenty more available. Also - I assume more people know Barnes and Noble by BARNES AND NOBLE and not, "the UND bookstore"
  9. did you give Lt. Col TB a FREE LUNCH friday? There is NO FREE LUNCH!!...well...except for KDog and select others ...when do I get my free lunch?? (willing to forward my name for that... )
  10. I assume you're talking Barnes and Noble? A couple months ago - they had a several palllets of the "75 years" book on display. When I went there a few weeks ago....all of them were gone and they just had a couple small tables of books out. They were $5 but I wonder about the Ralph selling them for a buck at their recent sale...did B&N turn over their copies to the Ralph to dump them at a loss or did B&N just pull them to the back room and the Ralph had a load of copies to unload??? I think $5 for that book is a deal...$1 is EVEN BETTER FOR THE BUYER but I don't think it would even cover cost. (AND I pity the fool who payed $20 for it when it came out ) There's a guy on Ebay who's selling them for $10 - if he got them for a buck that's a hell of a profit margin! but then again...there's a suprising number of Fighting Sioux items on Ebay.... SIOUX on Ebay
  11. everyone focuses on the negative of the Tanker wing leaving - they're not gone yet! Our congressional delegation will fight to keep the tankers here until the end and even IF they leave....the UP side is THE BASE will remain open...and it makes no sense to remove 90% of the current mission and keep it open UNLESS they have plans for the future. It can take up to 6 years to realign a base (ie - move the current mission out) In that interim - there are plenty of missions that can be reassigned to GF from all the bases that will be closed. Those missions (by and large) won't just be "cut" out of the US Military - they'll relocate to another OPEN base. I think everyone is missing the big picture (including most of the local media - PCM excluded!) The fact the GFAFB is just being "realigned" isn't necessarily a bad thing in the long term - yeah - we might take a short term hit but ultimately we'll benefit our of the whole thing...
  12. I think it's over...the Ralph has their big May "clear out the place" sale late last week but it ended Saturday. There were TONS of people there grabbing up stuff...
  13. wow...thought I'd get WORKED OVER suggesting the new logo might compete with the old blackhawk
  14. I agree with most of what you say - but I don't think it's a mistake to bring in a charismatic guy from the outside who's eager for a new challenge. I thought Rob would be the favorite too but he still has a (pretty good) job at UND - and maybe that's where he fits the best! Bollingers fundraising ability was a plus - lack of administrative experience a minus. Yes, Rob is a football guy like Roger and like Roger he has NO athletic administrative experience - I think that's what sunk him. I also agree Chuck "doesn't get it" with Athletics - maybe Buning can be a guy to persuade him in a new direction...
  15. damn bison trolls
  16. ...bottom line...take a breath and give the guy a shot. If he doesn't fit...he'll be run out of town on a rail.
  17. that would be BERNING (as in Todd) i believe and NO - there is NO similiarity (at least from what I've seen) He "berned" a lot of bridges that REA is still trying to rebuild (or repair) -- good riddance! and I'll leave it at that... I was at the public meet-n-greet deal with Buning and the nickname question was the first one he got from the very FEW people that actually showed up for it. He was very positive and said, from an outsiders view, it was a very respectful representation and he had no problems with it. I'm sure the usual suspects will try to raise a little stink soon after he's on campus but hopefully he'll realize it's the same 15 people whining about the name and consider the bigger picture.
  18. talking to him when he was here...his (older I assume) kids are college hockey fans, knew about the Fighting Sioux and would be excited to come here. That might guarentee he's be around for at least several years since I'm sure he doesn't want to keep shuffling his kids around in different schools.
  19. It's a tossup - as the poll also indicates...and PCM is right BOTH are definately worth having, just for the classic old pics. "75 years" is cool because they include old posters and graphics...that's cool to see. Another interesting poll sometime might be "New logo" vs. "Blackhawk" - they're both cool but I'd pick the new one since it's totally unique.
  20. OOHH I'm going to call Karl Goehring and he's going to be SO PISSED!! he'll kick that new goalie in his...uh...knees (oh, guess your right) Thought JPar was a big (and shaggy) as they get for a Sioux goalie
  21. does NDSU still have a CLUB TEAM??? how are they doing?
  22. I think the vote speaks VOLUMES about Fargos committment to hockey in ANY form...do your kid a favor...MOVE!!! NOW!!!! seriously!
  23. give me something UNIQUE!!! Alaska Anchorage has the Foghorn...it's just a copy and VERY ironic since we're so landlocked it's not even funny! Maybe we should take suggestions to something uniques to ND?? ---how about the sound of Mosquito trucks spraying!!! X1000!!! (it would also sound like a fart which would appeal to many college age fans )
