BTW! News FLASH for the Fool'em...Buning said when he first came to UND (much earlier this SUMMER) he was interested in restarting the rivalry...I find it very interesting the Fool'em decided to wait a couple MONTHS before making this a big headline story!!! I can tell you - when UND had their most recent press conference regarding the NCAA Nickname ruling....that weasel Kolpack and the UBER WEASEL McSqueely cornered Buning and were pestering him about something. What it was - I couldn't hear but given the BANNER HEADLINES in the last couple days...take a guess?? ... Tom is an honest guy coming from an Army/Navy background who's new in a job and knows what a rivalry is all about...too bad the Bison didn't give a CRAP about it when they bailed out to the Nivrana of "supposed" DIVISION ONE ATHLETICS!?! Who's missing who? REALLY?? (the ag college WISHES we could play again but now they have to act like it'd be a "favor" ) If "turnabout is fair play" - then NDSU is NOW the "sour grapes" WEINER AWARD winner of the year! If NDSU had any balls...they'd sign a deal to play at the Alerus next year. What do they have to worry about? They're BIG TIME!! Going to beat up on a "smaller" school with fewer scholarships...PUT UP or SHUT UP you chumps!! And don't pull that crap about a "DI" school traveling to a "DII"...if you're so great - you shouldn't have anything to worry about....

In fact, they MOST RECENTLY defeated this (actually RESPECTED) FULL D-I University in the National Semifinals of the DI Hockey Championship last April!!! I hear some ag-college down south will be playing them in FB sometime in the future...OOHHH - BITCH SLAP-A-THON!!!! GO GOPHS!!!!!! (in FB )

This is a COMPLETELY CONTRIVED (paper selling imagine ) Load of CRAP from the lame staff at the FOOL 'EM!! This came up, BRIEFLY, right after Buning was hired simply because he expressed - as an ARMY/NAVY guy - the importance of local rivalries. Good point - dead point around here right now! In a continuing effort to make you chumps down south buy papers...FOOL 'EM "reporters" took advantage of the recent NCAA "Nickname" edict to come up and ask UND guys about the status of the rivalry and ran with the ball. CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU'VE BEEN FOOLED AGAIN!!! (suckers!) Theres' no BUZZ up here about UND playing the gigantically HUGE bison AGAIN!! We didn't give a crap when YOU MOVED!!! WE don't NOW!! This is a completely fabricated story from the FORUM WEASELS to generate talk and make ndsu look GOOD by saying..."we've moved on to bigger and better things!" Okay - if playing NW Schreveport State in FB and being 29-1 in WBB last year and having it be TOTALLY MEANINGLESS is a GOOD THING?? You hit it right on the head PCM! I assume GK would PREFER we forget about the Sioux and then he'll bitch about WHY we forgot them...UND helps MAKE the Lakota/Dakota/Nakota people special and DOES NOT denigrate them. If you wanna see stereotypes...go back 30 years to Sammy The Sioux. We moved past that...GK needs to realize there's more potential good to be realized than his narrow mind can imagine...

BTW - Zig does a great job with what he's got (+-5 scholarships and a field suited for a decent legion team). Think about it...UND is a pretty tough baseball school...you can't get on the homefield much before the middle of April (if you're lucky!) We've actually had pretty good teams here recently and given the circumstances (low scholarships and adverse conditions) we should be thanking GOD we have as good a baseball team as we do!

oh man...and just THINK!! UND's PENALTY COUNT is going to go way down!! Seriously - good luck Greeny! Wish you would have stayed but it's no suprise you left. Have a great NHL career and THANKS for your time at ND!!

I would say the letter is very direct if not "scathing" - which should help elicit a direct response from the NCAA and good for CK for doing it. He promised at least a formal appeal, and if that is unsuccessful, a lawsuit...I think he knows UND has to, or at least appear to, be willing to fight this to the bitter legal end...the alumni would demand no less!

Yeah - thanks for that HUGE INSIGHT!! He's a thorn in the side of everyone and OF COURSE likes to stick it to whoever for whatever for EXACTLY the reason you state...."he gets people talking!" He's what's known in the business as a professional GADFLY - someone (most likely a real loser in real life) who's sold his journalistic soul with the sole aim of pissing people off. Everyone (on both sides) gets all up in arms about his columns on any number of topics...You threaten to "call the paper and pull your subscription/advertising/support" but NO ONE really does it and all you suckers can't wait to see what he writes next. Here's a remedy...Don't email him with you opposition to his opinion...he only laughs and plots his next crap piece. You best bet would be to e-mail his editor and tell him you think McWeasly is really losing his touch...writing controversial pieces just for their flame value. You might suggest a real JOURNALIST (even a sudo-one - looking for a job PCM? ) could present a...GASP! ...objective opinion piece without all the lame inflammatory rhetoric. I doubt the morons in charge of the FOOL'EM would listen...all they want to do is sell papers - integrity for them went out the window YEARS AGO but it might be worth a shot! OR simply don't read what he writes or buy their paper...

UND needs to approach this from the point of view this school does more to help Native American students fulfill their educational goals than another other institution in the US. (The Med School program just to name one) If pure percentage of enrollment is a factor...programs and opportunities should be an even greater factor! If the NCAA had any real balls - they should have said "YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR NAME!" but of course they didn't! They took the wimpy PC way out and said..."well, you can have your name but you can't host OUR playoff games or host tournaments...kind of like taking one of the wheels off your car and saying..."what? you still have a car! don't you WANT to race?? "
