There was a dike built on Belmont from 13th Ave to 17th Ave. It was topped on April 18th, one day before the downtown fire that would destroy 11 buildings. I don't think a dike built on the rest of Belmont would have prevented the disaster that unfolded

What could Owens (RIP) have done to save any part of the city in 1997? There was just too much water to hold back. That 1996-97 winter just dumped too much snow to melt without causing problems. The final storm in April 1997 added tons of moisture to the Red River basin and that was what made it impossible to win the war against the river.

They also decide who gets to be on the team or not, who starts or not and who gets playing time or not. The team you ultimately end up with is on the coaching staff. Not on the team captains.

With all due respect, until recently, there wasn't much to be positive about regarding UND athletics. But Jackson, Hutter and Schmidt have injected some positivity and enthusiasm to our fan base and this forum in general. The issue of payouts from FBS money games is an important one and does not fall under the category of "bitching". I'll give Chaves this, he's way better than Buning was at negotiating contracts.

I am not a fan of KEM, but this doesn't sound like it's coming from her. It sounds more like UND is skimming off the top of the NIL collective, which is pure stupidity.

Why would she want all this money to go to UND from the Collective? I think she is contributing to it. Why would she want her money going to anyone but the athletes?

I am no fan of hers, but what does she have to do with this?
