Whatever they work out, just letting the Beaver program die is not an option. I don't want to go back to a 12 team NCAA field with two regionals of six teams each. That was a cheesy set-up and I never liked it.
-
It looks like they borrowed kids off of the Cornell wrestling team!
-
Beavers tie it. 1-1 5:34 left in the 2nd Period.
-
1-0 Cornell. Come on Beavers!
-
There was and it also had Lacrosse on it, so that wouldn't have helped in that situation.
-
Thank God for technology!

Oh really? You just love to make comments about other posters, don't you? I've followed this program for a long time and the media has never done us any favors. You can dispute it and make smart remarks all you want, but I just call them as I see them. If you don't like it, that's your problem. End Rant.

I AM being real. They love it when we lose and hate it when we win. I think it's mainly because we aren't an East coast school in a big media market. Whatever the reason, it makes winning on a national stage more fun.
-
ESPN has always been anti-UND, that's what I love the most about winning National Championships. They have to cover our triumphs whether they like it or not (like in the Flutie love-fest game in 2000).
-
I also hate Minnesota with a passion, along with Denver. I hated the Badgers growing up, but not so much anymore. Notre Dame, despite the NCAA title game appearance last season, still hasn't proven they are a top-notch Division I program. Bemidji is a tough, hard-working team and they are out-working and out-playing the Irish right now. UND had a tough two-game series against the Beavers this season (a home and home series in early January). It's good for the sport for programs like Bemidji and Air Force to have success in the Big Show.
-
End of 2 periods, still 3-0 BSU. I think a 4-0 deficit would be close to insurmountable for the Irish, #1 seed or not.
-
One more BSU goal might do it.
-
Bemidji State just took a 3-0 lead over Notre Dame with about 6 minutes left in the 2nd period.
-
I guess I should stop listening to the national media because they ususally don't know what they are talking about. The Wolverines won two titles in three years in 1996 and 1998, but they haven't done much since. I guess I am not alone when it comes to playoff frustration.
-
Funny!! I didn't hear any of that. It was all about the golden boys from Ann Arbor. And their ringleader Kevin Porter. Until Notre Dame crashed the party and sent the Maize and Blue home early.
-
I think UNH will give them a tougher test than that.
-
The whole team slumped after the Sunday afternoon OT win vs. Colorado College. The goal vs. Duluth in the Final Five was a boneheaded mistake, but there were a lot of odd-man rushes and powerplay goals that he couldn't do much about. Sometimes I think goalies get too much credit and also too much blame. You win as a team and lose as a team.
-
Agreed, that would be awesome. And it would help Bemidji's program big-time. The WCHA would all of a sudden welcome them with open arms. This would help their recruiting and scheduling. And the Beavers would become an annual playoff contender. I would gladly tolerate a 12 team league if it helped a legitimate hockey school like BSU thrive and succeed.

That's what people said about Michigan last year. All I heard was Michigan this and Michigan that. Michigan, Michigan, Michigan! Last time I checked, they watched the NCAA title game in the stands with everyone else. And don't forget Brendan "Sour Grapes" Morrison's Wolverines of 1997. This is college hockey. Anything can happen.
-
I wouldn't go quite that far, but I feel your pain. We are becoming like the Gophers of the Doug Woog era: Close, but no cigar. I'm a loyal Sioux fan and always will be, but this loss hurts.
-
Amen and Amen! This program is about passion; both positive and negative. We'll be back next year, better than ever.
-
Yes, I will be supporting the Dogs to go all the way. Duluth fans have NEVER experienced the Nirvana of an NCAA Championship in hockey. GO DOGS!!!

While some of the postings on here have been overly emotional, for the most part, the criticisms have been legitimate. Losing faceoffs at critical times, not getting back on defense quickly enough, etc., those are legitimate points to make when analyzing why our favorite college sports team lost a big game. This is college sports and we are college sports fans and emotional, passionate opinions go with the territory. I just hate the idea that if you are a fan of a particular team, you have to go into "duckies and bunnies" mode when talking about them. I'll support this program win, lose or draw. But I am also not afraid to call it like I see it. If you disagree with that stance, I can respect that and we'll just agree to disagree.
-
And you should stop with the "duckies and bunnies" preaching from the pulpit. There is nothing unclassy about constructive criticism of your team's performance. It goes with the territory when you put on that Fighting Sioux jersey. The players accept that. The coaches accept that. It's time you accept that. No one on here is going to stop being a fan of the program over any loss or bad performance. I'll be back at The Ralph next year like always. And we'll have a darn good team with the young talent we have coming back. End Rant.

I think bcblues has a crystal ball that's all black inside.
