  1. That's just it, people will start doing that. Then attendance will sag and the geniuses that cooked up this asinine idea will whine and cry about it. You reap what you sow.
  2. Chris Semrau of REA. I was being a wise guy.
  3. Not everyone is young and healthy and capable of walking that far in one of the coldest places on earth during the winter. Thanks for playing, try again.
  4. Thank you for your opinion Mr. Semrau. Have a nice day.
  5. This is one thing we cannot blame on Hakstol.
  6. Sorry, my bad, I guess I jumped to conclusions (again). This, along with the smoking "ban", are two of the stupidest things REA has done in a long, long time. I hope it doesn't hurt attendance.
  7. Oh please, how much could it have cost to run those shuttles? Based on how much money that arena brings in every game (not to mention their other events), it can't be "cost prohibitive". My dad (who is not exactly young anymore) used those shuttles every single game. Now what is he supposed to do, walk from the freaking ramp or the Memorial Stadium lot? There are many other loyal, dedicated fans of this program that are in the same boat. I park in the Nursing lot every day and it isn't all that big, not for an event as big as this is. At some point, the Law of Diminishing Returns will kick in. Maybe REA doesn't believe that law applies to them, but if it does impact attendance, I don't want to hear them whine and complain about it. You reap what you sow.
  8. Well, I guess if people want to call in and ask questions/criticize, they should be civil about it.
  9. Is that a cheap shot at critics of the FB program? Please offer alternative opinions instead of making smart remarks.
  10. This would be unacceptable. A lot of people would simply refuse to go to another home game until a change was made. Just how bad do we have to get to make a change that obviously needs to be made? 0-11?
  11. Leadership starts at the top and teams take on the personality of their head coach. You saw that with Lennon and you saw that with Blais and you saw that with Roebuck. And (unfortunately) you are seeing that with Mussman.
  12. And you seem to think wins and losses don't matter at all. Based on your logic, we should join the Pioneer Football League and dump all 63 scholarships. That way, all that will matter is team GPA. Nobody on here is saying that "Wins and losses are all that matter." But we also don't think that having a perennially bad football program is acceptable either. If you want to make the case that Mussman is somehow not responsible for the success or failure of a program that he controls, please do so. But to make a correlation between an FCS program and a kids volleyball game is beyond apples and oranges.
  13. Well gabe01, Mussman is the head coach. That means he is king of the castle. He decides who works there and who doesn't. He decides who gets scholarship offers and who doesn't. And he's been there for 5+ seasons now as king of the castle. Ultimately, it's his responsibility what the final product looks like. And this is the worst team we have had in about 25 years.
  14. You are right, it's not the same situation.......
  15. A nice, succinct description of what is happening and what needs to happen.
  16. A loss at Idaho St. would be the newest low point for this program.
  17. Silence is not necessarily golden for the Mussman regime. I think if Faison was standing by Mussman, he would have put out a press release this morning saying that. I think he has decided to keep things under wraps until the season is over.
  18. It doesn't help matters that the local media coddles and covers for these coaches, whether they deserve it or not.
  19. Montana State didn't have much problem scoring on us with backups. It really is that bad.
  20. Just like the student section will be in two weeks at Homecoming. And I honestly cannot blame them right now.
  21. I suggested this in another thread and nobody seemed interested. This could be a game-changer.
  22. I think the point he's trying to make is that practice time is precious and it shouldn't be used for anything but practice. The NCAA gives you X number of days for that and you better use them wisely. Especially as an "emerging" FCS program like ours. And the comparison to sandbagging in 1997 is apples and oranges. That is service to the community and our athletes have been doing that for years. Having the players clean off the field is something that happens in intramural sports, not at a legitimate NCAA Division I institution.
  23. So if we could have kept Lennon by giving him a little more money (I really believe that), then this is the best definition of being penny-wise and pound foolish I have ever seen. Of course, that happened during the rein of the "Co-Acting Athletic Directors", so that shouldn't surprise us. This was also Kupchella's final year as President, so he had absolutely no stake in the outcome. Not that he ever cared all that much about athletics anyway.
  24. This is what I have been telling people. The 2001 defense would have performed better, even with the disparity in athleticism. They were mean, nasty, tough and snot-nosed. They didn't want to give up first downs, let alone touchdowns. They didn't just beat you down, they beat you up. That is what I want at the FCS level as well. And if we have to give up some athleticism to get it, that is a trade off I am willing to make.
