That is a pretty good analysis of the situation.

No questioning your loyalty from this fan; there is nothing wrong with calling it as you see it. Of course, some people on here will give you an argument on that.

Um, yeah, that was several years ago. Having one really good team does not make you better than another school several years later, especially since FU has a five year head start on us as a Division I program. The fact is that Saul Phillips went to the Big Dance with Tim Miles' players. He has yet matched that level of success with his own guys. And until he does that, FU will remain stuck in the mud while we catch up to them.

Nice that you are using your FU education. My question was that the NCAA has allowed transfers without penalty in the past and I wanted to know if it was applicable to a coach being fired. I never implied anything else. Nice try, please play again.

Didn't the players at Penn State get the option of transferring without penalty after the whole sex abuse scandal broke?
-
I didn't wear any Fighting Sioux gear for about a month after that. And that is a first (and hopefully last) for me.

That is what I was thinking as well. Anyone have a definitive answer?

Good idea, that laundry building is a dump and an eyesore.

I got a great education in the UND Business School and it's awesome that enrollment is up like it is. But the time has come for a new facility with all the bells and whistles needed to educate our students for the 21st Century. I imagine there are some well-off alums that would pitch in and help. And this is the perfect project for the UND Spirit Campaign fund.

And they have that only because of the turmoil in the athletic department in December 2007 that led us to promoting Mussman to head coach after Lennon left for SIU instead of conducting a proper, national search. And we are working on rectifying that now.

Good point regarding Braun, but I think the defense was overall pretty solid. 77 points isn't all that bad, although I would like it down in the mid-60's if possible. We'll need to be firing on all cylinders come conference tournament time if we want to get past Weber St. in March.
-
If this team cannot develop some sort of consistency from one game to the next, this will end in another home split. We are running out of time to build a resume for the national tournament in March.

I guess I should have used #Buttfootball.

If that is the best the "Slummit" League has to offer, that whole league is in trouble. Whoops, I forgot........ #ButtRPI

Okay, I think we've beaten gfhockey's travel habits to death. Can we please get back on topic?

You were the one comparing a Division III school to FBS programs. I did no such thing.
-
That is not what I meant and you know it. And if I have to explain it to you, it's not worth the effort.
-
Like they aren't doing that now? They just lost to Georgia freaking Southern at home! No way that coach survives the off-season.
-
This worked for John Gagliardi at St. John's in Minnesota, but I don't think it would work anywhere else.

Some food for thought on this cold Saturday night: Craig Bohl to Gainesville to clean up the mess that is Florida Gator Football? NDSU's current high national profile might make Bohl more visible to big-time FBS programs that are looking to make a change at the top. Is it likely? No, but if you wanted to shake things up, plucking a successful FCS coach out of the Midwest would do it.

Nebraska might be looking for a head coach after this season; the natives are restless in Lincoln right now.

The question is, can we get consistent performance out of this team on back to back nights? Or will we keep playing well one night and bad the next (or vise-versa)? If it's the former, we have a chance to salvage the season. If it's the latter, we are screwed.
