This is the first time in their entire existence that the Wild have looked like something more than a 60 minute back-checking team with forwards that can't shoot it into the ocean if their lives depended on it. It will be interesting to watch how far they can go this year.

And I suppose you are going to tell us that it's because Terry isn't good enough at sales?
-
You are forgetting, all Bison fans care about is #buttfootball.

Yeah, I saw something on TV about that. It was really needed too, that stadium has been a dump compared to what both ND schools have for a long time.

Yeah, but they also teach kids how to consume alcohol responsibly and not excessively. In America, it's a forbidden fruit of sorts and thus the problems with binge drinking. -

Are you afraid of the question? I say yes. -
Heard from a reliable source that the owner wanted to retire and thus didn't see the sense of paying for all those upgrades when he was getting out of the business.

I have also pointed out the correlation between the two eras. I think Bubba will get us out of this hole just as Thomas did.

No, what you are seeing is that nobody on this forum cares about you and your stupid G.O.B.C. Stick to having your cute little meetings where you pretend to have actual influence in Grand Forks.

That was one awesome story!

First the NDSCS-Wahpeton student and now this. Too many young people dying before their time.

Really? How is that?

Let's give him at least a little credit for telling the anti-nickname zealots that he has no intention of trying to ban the Fighting Sioux name and logo from campus. I think we should just wait and watch the process play out.

Hey, I just had breakfast a half hour ago!

I agree with you, but the league is determined to stamp out Roughing the Passer at any and all costs.

I think we have to go back to 2005 when Digger Anderson was our heart and soul. Before the Omaha meltdown in the Alerus Center that is.

I did. Perhaps somebody that works there reads this board?

If all you are talking about are these "diversity promotion" jobs, then you have a valid point. We should focus resources on what students are going to college to learn, not teaching people something they should have learned in kindergarten (treat everyone with respect, be nice to others, etc). I really hope choosing a new nickname will help put some of this nonsense behind us.

Not to defend the call, but I think referees are being pressured by the league to watch for anything that even looks like roughing the passer and then throw the flag. Some balance needs to be found with this or this will become flag football.

I don't think the players are capable of executing the current game plan, especially the offensive line. That may be the worst part of this whole team. I don't think Bubba and Rudolph should totally abandon the running game, but a few wrinkles here and there might keep defenses more honest and give us at least a chance of scoring on two to three drives per game. With our defense flying around creating havoc, that might be worth a couple of more wins.

Overall, I think Bridgewater looked fine in his first regular season action. Looks like he'll have to carry the load until Cassel's turf toe heals.

Wrong? I do not think so. Did you really compare FU's offense to ours? There are high school teams that could put more points on the board than our offense right now. And FYI, when we won it all in 2001, we had a run-pass threat at QB, a game-breaking WR and (the most important part) a rock-solid OL that pass protected and run blocked enough for our rather pedestrian RBs to grind out yards when we needed them. Without those tools on offense, we wouldn't have gotten out of the first round vs. Winona St. at home (they hung 28 on our defense; thankfully our offense put up 42). And Eastern Washington is going to lose some games if they keep giving up 40-50 ppg like they have been, so that isn't a really good example either. Dale Lennon is learning the hard way at SIU that having a pedestrian offense is a major detriment to taking that next step beyond having a winning record every year. We just have to be patient and allow Bubba and company to bring in better O-linemen.
