Yes, really. Got a problem with that?
-
I wonder how much Jones is going to have to raise concession prices next year to pay for that "lucky break".
-
Har, har, har. I am very happy with Bridgewater and his rookie performance with an unreliable running game (thanks for nothing AP), very few quality receivers and an inconsistent O-Line. Meanwhile, I didn't see your boy Minnehaha Dix (or whatever he calls himself) make many highlight reels.

I think the Ravens have a decent shot of making the big game. Carolina.....I don't think they survive the Seahawks next weekend. A Ravens-Seahawks Super Bowl would be fantastic.
-
That is the point I was trying to make with him earlier. Don't expect to have much more success than I had.
-
Not a Lions fan; just sick and tired of the so-called "glamour" franchises in the league getting breaks they do not deserve and did not earn.
-
He was trying to catch the ball and he smacked Hitchens in the face in the process because Hitchens practically ran him over without making a play on the ball. That, by definition, is defensive PI. If that isn't PI, then nothing is. And the Lions should never have had to punt in the first place, so you can throw that out with the rest of the bath water. Especially with Dez Bryant running out on the field. Last time I checked, that was worth a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The rulebook went out the window big-time on that one play. The Cowgirls and the Fudge Packers have both been the beneficiaries of favorable officiating for years. But next weekend, something will have to give. That is the best reason to watch that particular game.
-
Unfortunately, no. But I'll bet Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are drooling at the prospect of covering two of their favorite teams. Not to mention the entire Fox NFL Sunday studio crew.
-
That is all you need to call PI on that play. But since it's the almighty Cowboys, we'll just pick it up. The bad news for the Cowboys? They are headed to Green Bay, which the league loves even more than they love the Cowboys! Let's call it "The NFL Suck-Up Bowl".
-
I agree with this, but according to Cratter and others on this forum, this reshuffling is simply not possible and will not happen.
-
Anybody who thinks that flag would have been picked up if the teams were reversed is either a) kidding themselves or b) is a Cowboys fan.

BREAKING NEWS: This video on the field before the game shows Cowboys owner Jerry Jones making small talk with the officials:

So you really think UND and NDSU should jump to FBS so we can get into some cheesy bowl game on a weeknight on ESPN in December when most people are Christmas shopping or getting plugged into the NBA, NHL or CBB and the stands would be half-full at best? How many people in Grand Forks or Fargo would want to travel to this game? How many alumni would get stoked about their alma mater being in something called the Whatever.Com Bowl? I think I know the answers to these questions, as do most of the people on this forum. If we want to make our mark in the world of big-time college athletics, we should focus on building powerhouse MBB programs that get to the NCAA tournament on a regular basis and occasionally upset some big-name schools. That would make much more sense than chasing the fool's gold of low-level, bottom-feeding FBS football.
-
Again...it's a team game. Archie Manning got the crap beat out of him, not because he sucked, but because the teams he played on sucked. FB is the ultimate team game.
-
It's a team game and the Lions took a few years to get off the mat following an 0-16 season. Stafford is doing what he can to help the team win.
-
Here we go with the "a national playoff would ruin the almighty, all-important regular season" BS; that notion was exposed to be a big, fat, steaming pile of crap this year. The 4-team playoff did nothing to diminish the regular season, if anything it made the regular season more important. And it took those biased, asinine polls out of the equation. The AP and Coaches Polls should have zero bearing on who wins a championship. Finally, they are getting closer to getting it right.

Especially since the Beer and Bacon Boys haven't won a medal the last 2 years! -
The NFL will do just about anything to get the (Fudge) Packers into the Super Bowl. The problem is, the Seahawks have home field throughout the NFC playoffs and they will be tough to beat there.

Yeah, that is what I meant. -

So every nation in the world that has a hockey program gets a crack at qualifying for this tournament? I guess you can't call it the IIHF if you don't include the whole world at some level. -
So what? You still have to get kids to buy what you are selling and I have all the confidence in the world that Bubba and his staff can (and will) do that. But that won't be known for several years anyway.

Wow, didn't see that coming. -
I am not sure what articles you are reading, but both Miller and Nelson are sugar-coaters when it comes to UND athletics. I think Schlossman is much more objective in his reporting (yes, I have warmed up to Brad in recent years!). I never have said that the Herald sports team should trash anybody or write "scathing, hatchet jobs all of the time". But over the years, I have seen way too much sugar-coating of our teams when it is absolutely not warranted. For that matter, I have seen way too much of that on this forum and in our fan base (especially over the last 15 years or so). What Miller wrote today was basically trying to convince us that being competitive in a game on the road is somehow a step forward in the right direction. That is the definition of a "moral victory" and we've accumulated more than enough of those to last a lifetime. At some point, we need to get a "signature win" over a program like Marquette or Wisconsin or Minnesota. That will get us a lot of positive press and exposure and possibly make a difference with recruiting. What happened vs. Marquette does not qualify. And btw, Tom Powers of the Pioneer Press is one of the worst hatchet men in the Twin Cities media (he rips Teddy Bridgewater in almost every Vikings-related article). I certainly don't want that in the local press, but I also don't want the "everything is fine the way it is" sugar-coating that I have seen in the Herald over the years.

Don't count out Finland (a tough, physical team like always) or the United States (solid from top to bottom). Russia looks down (not shedding any tears over that) and I think everyone else lacks the overall depth to contend for a medal. -
Another puff piece by the Herald's Tom Miller: http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-basketball/3642827-tom-miller-mixed-results-Marquette So we are into moral victories now? Really Tom? Considering this program's abysmal road record during the Jones regime, I will believe it when I see it.
