  1. Okay, is it time for another Roughriders ad in the Dakota Student? Any takers?
  2. I think he was. You simply cannot hit a QB when he slides feet first. I think a big fine is coming for that hit.
  3. I am more worried about Bridgewater following that cheap shot that knocked him out of the game. I think there will be a fine coming down for that.
  4. That reminds me of Kupchella's idea for the student section: "Sit down and be quiet."
  5. #anythingbutnodaks
  6. I think that "third string practice goalie" is better than anybody ever imagined. He was overlooked because of his lack of size (kind of like the volunteer goalie coach!) and is proving that he belongs at this level. Berry is going to have some tough decisions to make pretty soon.
  7. I don't think Oxbow was saying that; he was just pointing out that under Hakstol, we had a lot of slow starts and losses against inferior teams early in the season (remember Michigan Tech sweeping us AT HOME in 2005?), so if we are going to give Hakstol some slack early on, the same rule should apply to Berry. It isn't a good thing no matter who is behind the bench and I don't think Berry or Hakstol would contest that point. Bottom line: It's early in the season, the freshman are still learning how to win at this level and things will be rolling along by February or March.
  8. One of the reasons I am somewhat distrustful of scientists is that they truly believe you can quantify things that are inherently qualitative in nature. The "trap game" phenomenon is a very qualitative thing and is very hard to measure.
  9. Yep, both bad calls. But I still think we lose last night regardless.
  10. Wonder how many threads will be devoted to this on Bisonville?
  11. They claim they aren't afraid of UND regaining it's mojo in FB, but stupid comments like this prove otherwise. Bubba was part of the staff that rebuilt the program in the 1990's, was part of the staff that brought home the 2001 D-2 National Championship and now is in charge of the program. That is why they are putting out baloney like this.
  12. Oxbow6 and I don't agree on a lot of things (especially politics), but he's an intelligent poster who offers a lot of good insights on all of our programs. And I happen to think he is right on this topic as well. Believe that.
  13. Haven't people been calling for this for several years now?
  14. Won't that be after Lucia retires? Isn't he scared to play us or something?
  15. Agreed. We have to start someplace and this would be a nice first step for Faison to show us he cares at least a little bit about FB.
  16. And people think I wear tin-foil hats!
  17. That might take some potential votes away from Fighting Hawks, as I think the North Stars/Sundog voters would likely jump on the FH bandwagon if they vote this time.
  18. But nobody here is even causally suggesting that anyone "has to" give money to anything; I don't know where people are getting that notion. Milford was suggesting that it is somehow inappropriate to even speculate about getting an alumni donation to fund an on-campus FB stadium and that is pure nonsense. This is a discussion forum and that is what we do here. If he doesn't like it, he can just leave. It is just that simple. Sometimes, wealthy alums don't even know about what the urgent needs of a campus are. That is why we have an Alumni Association to to keep everyone connected and informed. If we don't do that, we might as well fold up our tents and go home.
  19. Enough whining about "other people's money". Guess what Milford, almost everything we do here is funded with "other people's money". Scholarships, season tickets, alumni donations, etc. If you don't like that, you don't have to give. The rest of us will continue promoting the present and future of UND and try to make it an even better place for our children and grandchildren.
  20. I was at the quarterfinal game vs. Pittsburg State in 2001 and that was over Thanksgiving weekend and the attendance wasn't all that bad. Just get 6 to 7,000 people in there for a game that matters and it will be loud.
  21. A breath of fresh air.
  22. Let's remember that NDSU plays in a city-owned, indoor facility that is almost a quarter of a century old. So they don't exactly control their own digs either.
  23. Well, based on the passions I have seen expressed on this forum, I would have to disagree with you. And all this talk of whatever name is chosen being replaced within a couple of years is highly unlikely. The reason for the low voter turnout is how horribly mismanaged the process has been from start to finish.
