I think Auggie is way better than MSU-Moorhead.

Augustana would be a great addition. Good academics, would give both USD and SDSU some competition, especially in basketball. The Sioux Falls television market would be solidified as well.

It was a great NCHC road win, which never come easy. But in the larger context, it isn't necessarily a sign of a big turn around. I will be 100% stunned if we start a winning streak now. This team is what it is, a mediocre, average team in the NCHC and a non-factor nationally. And anyone who thinks that's not true hasn't been paying attention.

Or DU came out overconfident on Saturday and paid for it with a loss.

Or worse, give him a five year extension. -
And I suppose Denver is just "lucky" to have won 3 NCAA titles over the past 7 years (minus the COVID-shortened year)? Enough of the "hot goalie" and "no luck" excuses. We are becoming an afterthought in the world of Division I hockey. Unacceptable.

So far I like his aggressiveness in recruiting. It may take a couple of years to see playoff success, but it will be worth the wait.

If I had kids of my own, I would have the same problem. -
To help get my mind off the current sorry state of UND athletics, I watched the Division 2 National Title game from December 8th, 2001 on YouTube last night. Here is a link: During the broadcast, there was an advertising spot promoting UND athletics. It aired a couple of times during the game. Here is a link to it. Two things said in that spot stuck out: "UND players contend competitively with the nation's best". "Fighting Sioux athletics have a long tradition of producing champions in the classroom and on the playing field." Can we please get back to those things? In all sports? Instead of coming up with excuses for why it just cannot be done? PS: Even after all these years, it was satisfying to watch us win that game.

There are a lot of bugs and viruses going around right now.

Man, I miss that place. -
A tired refrain the last couple of years. I think those Nattys had something to do with it.
-
Not according to the apologists on here. They think Sather should get to stick around as long as he wants. I am done listening to the apologists and status quo defenders. They simply do not get it.
-
Knowing the game is fine. But this is as much a people management job as it is a teacher of X's and O's.

With all due respect, Chaves needs to go. I am so sick of hearing all the important committees he serves on and how much the suits love him. Our programs have never been in this bad of shape across the board in all my years following them. The only coach that should be safe is Eric Schmidt. All the others should have to earn contract extensions instead of having them handed out like candy on Halloween. The disastrous Bubba extension in March 2024 cannot happen again. We have to choose what we want to become going forward. Do we want to continue down the road of mediocrity, underachievement and being overshadowed by the other Dakota schools? Do we want our hockey program to decend into mid-major status and give up our well-earned status as a blue blood in Division I hockey? Or do we want to set our sights upward? Basketball programs that regularly compete for Summit League tournament titles. Ditto for volleyball. Football regularly competing for MVFC and FCS titles. Hockey regularly competing for NCAA titles and taking a back seat to no one. I know which one I would choose. But the current high school-esqe regime in charge of the athletic department will never get us there. #replacechaves

I do not think Duluth will be bad for much longer.

There are only 6 points available each weekend. But at this point, I think it is too little, too late.
-
A season of underachieving against inferior opponents has consequences.
-
So we moved up to Division I over 15 years ago to be average? That is 100% unacceptable. And I would hope all supporters of this institution would agree with that.
-
Based on his decisions, I don't think Chaves looks at wins and losses at all. And that is unacceptable. I do not want to be the Rutgers of the Midwest. And that is what we are becoming.
-
Should our decisions be influenced by results or lack thereof? Because in Bill Chaves' athletic department, wins and losses simply do not matter. When I say that our athletic department is being run like a high school, that is what I am referring to.
-
The overall level of mediocrity in our athletic department is simply unacceptable. The idea that Sather is untouchable is proof of that.
-
Our last NCAA tournament win back in 2021. My, those were the days.
-
My thinking as well.

Two I think. But your point still stands.
