  1. Nobody has said anything close to this. Sounds like you are being sensitive.
  2. That new company Hakstol recommended does great work. Metallica is coming in a couple of weeks and now they are stepping up for UND football.
  3. Trying to open up old wounds, are you?
  4. Just what we need......another chain. #nothankyou
  5. Prosecutors don't like to lose. They want a good won-loss record. That is how they get cushy judgeships. As for doing time for smoking weed, that problem may be solved this November in North Dakota.
  6. Blais isn't there anymore, so perhaps not (nice comment though!).
  7. The prosecution didn't want to go to trial and take the chance of an acquital.
  8. This. I am sick of hearing "we are young on the o-line" every single fall. When are we going to stop being "young on the o-line"? Why can't we retain o-lineman for longer than two years?
  9. Then you run into the "Diaper Dandy" problem that Boston University has run into. You lose too many guys at once.
  10. Recruiting sounds better than it did about a year ago, doesn't it?
  11. This is a big year for Bubba and company. A mostly healthy roster, some young guys who got good experience last year with all the injuries, a new QB that may be much better at throwing the ball than Studsrud was and a fan base still waiting for this program to become perennial contenders. I am excited, yet nervous, about the upcoming season.
  12. #buthockeyisallthatmatters (sarcasm) I agree with you 1000%.
  13. Unacceptable. Either we shoot for the stars or we shouldn't even have a program. If we cut FB, we could move those resources to MBB and WBB and focus on being in the NCAA tournament on a regular basis. That would give us tons of positive press coverage on a truly national scale. Either build FB into national contenders or cut bait entirely.
  14. Is it a strawman argument because it's a strawman argument? Or is it a strawman argument because it doesn't match the narrative you are pushing? I say the latter. Penalty shots are totally different. They are a deterrent to pulling down a guy on a breakaway. That, my friend, is a strawman argument if I have ever heard one. And you conveniently skipped over my comment earlier when I said I could live with the shootout in regular season games......just as long as they are not used in playoff games. But since Goon has assured us that will never, ever happen, I will stop worrying about it (no joke, I do think he is right). And finally, you are basically telling me to shut up. That is bush league. I don't tell other people what to say or not to say. You should seriously consider doing the same.
  15. I agree with you on fighting in hockey, as long as it isn't one of those staged fights.
  16. So if someone blows out a knee during a non-conference shootout (which counts for NOTHING in the NCHC standings), we shouldn't have a problem with it? SMH And like I said before, I don't care how many people like shootouts. I think they are a stain on the integrity of a team game. If a majority of fans wanted to make the nets 50% bigger, should we just do that as well?
  17. I think you really meant........
  18. Nope. And neither was I.
  19. Well, even the professionals bomb jokes (Bob Zany for instance).
  20. Opps, sorry. My brain had an off moment.
  21. How you would measure it? Just go back to two points per game and each team gets one point for a tie. And if you went to 4x4 for 10 minutes, you would drastically reduce the number of ties. You can bank on that.
  22. The problem in the NHL is that some teams were ending the season with 15-20 ties. That obviously is a problem. Thus the shootout was added. I personally think a 10 minute 4 x 4 OT would dramatically cut down on the ties and I wish college hockey would adopt it uniformly across all leagues. I can live with the shootout for regular season NCHC games. But let's eliminate the shootouts after non-conference ties; they serve ZERO purpose since no conference points are on the line.
  23. I sure hope you are right about this. However, I have learned in this world to never say never about anything.
  24. I have no desire to run with the herd (whether it be the shootout herd or the NDSU Thundering Herd). I honestly don't care if 99% of the population likes shootouts, I think they are stupid.
  25. What is wrong with the occasional tie? You could have 4 x 4 OT periods and lengthen them 10 minutes. That would reduce the number of ties so we don't have teams with 20 ties at the end of the season.
