  1. Duluth and Denver have each won two titles since we hung #8. Based on your comment, that should never have happened.
  2. And that is why NCAA titles matter, despite what some people on here think.
  3. Everyone cross your fingers that everyone that is expected to be on the roster signs up for classes on time.
  4. I think Jimmy K being drafted by the Vikings was smoother since there are a lot of Vikings fans within the UND fan base. Phil H was drafted by the Bills, a team in the AFC East. Not too many strong feelings about the Bills one way or the other in the Midwest. Supporting a local kid in his professional endeavors is fine. Jumping on and off bandwagons because of it is what annoys most people.
  5. I have never liked fans who change allegiances at the drop of a hat. If someone in my extended family played for the Packers, I would not become a Packer fan (just typing that makes me cringe). When Darin Erstad was drafted by the Angels and made it the majors, a bunch of people jumped on the Angles bandwagon. Not just wishing Erstad the best in his career, but jumping on the bandwagon 1000%. That has always annoyed me as a sports fan.
  6. One of those five years, there was no tournament because of COVID-19. Another one of those five years, our opponent in the regional final got a bye into the title game because of COVID-19. The other three years, you can argue our recruiting let us down.
  7. So what is your point? We shouldn't care if we don't land blue chip recruits to complement our three and four year guys?
  8. I appreciate the effort, but that is not what I was looking for.
  9. Because that is all we do around here anymore. The day I tip my cap to Minnesota or BU is the day I turn in my UND fan card.
  10. When am I going to read some good news on this thread?
  11. Hey, stop bringing positivity into @gfhockey's life! I don't think he would know how to handle it!
  12. At what point did hockey games need to have fan engagement to keep you entertained? Around 7:05pm on Friday, October 5th, 2001 when our home games were opened up to a bunch of "non-fan" fans who probably don't know the difference between offsides and icing. The student section became neutered because a bunch of suits want it nice and quiet all the time. Which brings me to...... Why rely so much on students for chants? The student section has always been the heart and soul of the atmosphere at our home games. Silence them and you silence the entire arena. And that is why this thread exists in the first place. It's become all about stupid in-game promotions. For example, the Simba cam has got to go. If they ever do this up on the big screen for all the little kids to follow along with, I will walk out. And finally, there was the whining about the "beer lady" being a bad influence on kids. The B.S. doesn't stop on this issue.
  13. Nostalgia overload.
  14. It needs to happen years in advance.
  15. How about other mid-majors (before mid-majors are basically kicked out of Division I)? We could work with NDSU and get teams to come to North Dakota for two games (Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday).
  16. Not over. WAY over.
  17. This would kill March Madness forever. The intrigue of the tournament would be gone. And the TV contracts they have been able to negotiate will be worth far less.
  18. Better be, it's taken them a long time to finish it.
  19. Please leave this in the closet.
  20. I think @scpa0305was being sarcastic.
  21. My stance on this is clear: We are a blueblood program in college hockey. Anything less is unacceptable (Copyright @Goon 2022, ALL Rights Reserved). I can accept mid-major status in basketball. I CANNOT accept mid-major status in hockey. That being said, this year's crop of freshmen look great and will give us some much-needed scoring punch.
  22. Any good news today?
