That doesn't matter at UND, where winning is optional (sarcasm). But to answer your question, no. He needs to get this team into the playoffs the next two seasons and make a serious run at getting to Frisco. Otherwise, I don't think he should get an extension.

Then why should they care if this kid wants to transfer out? They have this mentality that kids would rather sit on the bench at NDSU than start for UND. That was the point of the post you are responding to; they shouldn't care one way or the other. As for whether it will pay off for us, that won't be known for a year or two. I certainly hope the kid fits in here and can contribute.

I recall the same thinking back in 1986. That obviously changed the following decade. We should focus on what we can control, which is quite a bit.

I for one never blamed Hakstol for the problems in Philadelphia. That franchise is a mess because of management incompetence and bad ownership.

Agree with the first paragraph, disagree with the second one. We do need guardrails put on this (and on NIL for that matter), but not supporting your team(s) and school only hurts the student-athletes who stick around. And they are not the ones causing the problems.

An NCHC split on the road is fine with me.

Of course, if he falls flat on his face, it will backfire and he'll be back looking for work. But that is the chance you take when you take a job like USC.

Brand names don't pay the bills. Not if we are getting pennies on the dollar for the revenues we are helping to generate.

Let's also remember that the Gators have been mediocre for some time now. Whatever problems UND is having, we did go to the playoffs in the spring and our recruiting is picking up.

*FCS football. And the past is not necessarily a prediction of the future. We need to make our own future. We did it once before in Division 2 and we can do it again in FCS. We just need to get everyone firing on all cylinders at the same time.

What makes you think the Little 7 would make it worth our while? They would want us for our fan base, arena and tradition. But they would offer us pennies on the dollar for revenue because we aren't a "full member" of their precious conference. That is when we would tell the Little 7 to go pound sand.

Screw conference realignment, this is still the #1 enemy in my book.
